Big contrast to the bright, flighty little wisps you've seen in Small Trolls.
These little guys will appear in the city and they're no different to their forest versions. Except they're shriveled, sootier, grubbier and dimmer.
Tistow is built on a marshland, meaning there used to be a lot of sprites there. They're all still there, but they've been reduced to these sorry looking creatures after their trees were cut down and fields built on.

Something new and something to look forward to.
These are for the main story which I'm still keeping in wraps.
But I can say the years these lot refer to are between 1853-1855. Just for reference, the current year in Small Trolls story is 1841 (and you can check the date on Fielding's paper in the main story to tell you what year it was when he died). How old does that make Jáhko and Veeti? About 20ish.

The model is ready! I was quicker with it than I thought to be honest.
(Well the fact that I didn't have to do a few major steps before skeletoning him speeded that up, so any professional modeler out there could read me to filth about many great "steps I've missed". But... If there aren't any then I'm totally safe and nobody can judge me, a-ha-ha. It's just a mannequin. He dun need unwrapping or a tongue.)

Now this is what I would call a humble beginning for a model. (Also yay, a different kind of post!)
So! Elli has been hoping for a 3D dummy of Woodcarver for quite some time. Sometimes sketching him up can be a pain in the comic pages, so I took it upon myself to make a little side project of a Woodcarver Dummy. Oh goodness and so we have passed January of 2017!
This time we've got a little bit less to say. So far we've been very driven to keep drawing and focusing on the pages, but a few changes have come along the way so far. For one thing, we both finally met each other in person while Karoliina visited the UK. In a week's time we visited Canterbury, London, sorted out Patreon messages and held a stream together~

Thanks to my scanner, it doesn't properly scan any paper properly that has some waves to it, resulting in a little bit blurry scan.

This is one of the Major Monsters of Year In Herafter whose design I'm not entirely sure about. This is already a third proper try to conceptualize this monster but I still struggle with it. The idea of the design has been the same from the start, but there are details I'm still not terribly happy about.

Our tall and clever troll girl, Nightshade. We've not shown you much of her yet, but here's some concept art of her.
She's a fair bit older than the rest of the troll children and acts as a kind of a teaching assistant but she will still join in to play with them as well.
And a little extra sketch of Jáhko as a troll! He and Larkspur could definitely pass as off brothers.

Slightly messy tutorial but I managed to scrape together most of the steps!

I wasn't happy with Veeti's flailing as I couldn't quite get him to look good, so at one point his arms and legs got redlined and checked before I dared to continue. He doesn't tilt quite as much as originally intended but I hope he doesn't look dreadfully stiff regardless of that.
