OC - Wild Herd

The Wildwoods patch went live last week and I've been squirreling some stuff away related to it. You'll get to meet these 3 in mid March for something special! Here's a preview of the designs. Miikka and I have habit of turning Jack, Veeti and Anna into different cameos in our worlds, and I had a sneaky chance to do that with SSO, so I thought I might as well, haha.

Moving house - We're off to Shetland

Firstly I wanted to apologise for the lack of content recently, a lot has happened this year already. The main reason being, we're shipping our stuff to the Shetland Isles!

This wasn't confirmed until a few days ago (we thought it was already in early February but apparently security checks got delayed) and it's been a huge blur of moving stuff around and sorting things out. Covid hasn't helped, HOWEVER, I have got my first jab! Woo! ♥

Drawing 8 characters (sometimes) per panel is a challenge especially when horses are involved. But.. It's not a completely unknown task to me after last year's.. Shenanigans.

Bluebell

Self-indulgent sketches. SSO did a hashtag ages ago for horses fans would like to see ingame. And I'm still holding my flag up for my little girl.

I've posted sketches of her before but I got inspired to do more after the Gotland Russ reveal. The model is -perfect-. Not just for her but as a childhood favourite pony kinda hting. Gotland shares ancestry with the Welsh pony breeding wise which is probably why Gracie looks so much like a Gotland (she's a Welsh/Irish cob mic herself).

First draft - Meteor

Ok slightly cringey. I think this is the very, very first Meteor I ever drew. He's my favourite of the Guardians (after filly Concorde) and I feel like at the time I had no cluueeee what I was gonna do when it came to characterising the Guardians.

So I started with this. Thank goodness this went in the bin by my own hand though. :'D

Fripp

I've posted the finished sketches of him before, but never shown the little practice sketches.

His face is really challenging to draw. I had to go for something between a fox and a squirrel, since he's not really either when you take a closer look at him.

Linda

This is also from 2019! This was a practice in Linda's body type. I really like drawing her because she's quite a lot like Anna, bit rounder, cheerful and fun. So quite a lot of Anna goes into her when I'm drawing her.

SSO NPCs

These are.. Almost 2 years old sketches now. Spring 2019. From the concept folder of my very first SSO character drawings that I was requested to do.

These sketches are from a time at the very beginning of my journey with SSO, which is much longer than most people know. I've not been able to share it with y'all yet since it started back in Feb/March in 2019 when I was first contacted by Ferly for a project and I've not really been able to discuss what we've been up to.

Soul Riders

These I can share! This is still a WIP for a later release, but I was asked a year ago to produce images of the Soul Riders performing magic. Coloured versions of Lisa and Alex exist, but I've been saving Meteor and Anne's (and stallion Concorde) for a stream colouring session.

I really wanted to schedule that particular stream for after Christmas, but I physically haven't had the time for it. But it's still in the plans.

Eeey! This is the thing. Or one of them. :'D I can FINALLY say something more than just hint at how busy I've been.

In Veeti's homecountry, he's taught to sew and make their traditional get-up, shirts, trousers and other essentials of the rural north. However Veeti has broadened his horizons a little beyond that.

Something a bit different! I had fun with this little guy.

The horse model I shared with you previously has somehow lost its textures. It's a lot of work lost so I haven't felt like continuing it. I wanted to learn to use shaders a bit better on Blender so I picked the mesh and rig up again and adjusted it slightly.
