Orthographic front view of the Vivid Battlecruiser for our upcoming show, TECTOMIC.
Movin' from the concept, through the lineart, to the painting stage of the pipeline. Boneitis is whippin' wet paint onto paper as we speak, for that totally authentic traditional animation feel.
Below is the 'Infinity shot,' where craft are drawn with vanishing points at the same angle so they can be composited together.

This week's Prelude update- Vanth and the micro-atrocity, in a land with no paper towels in sight.
Liz: I'm creating a poseable plush dreamkeeper character that has a spark ryuu-neko has a pet. Here's the plush head before attaching to the body, I think it's going to turn out super cute! ^_^

Dreamkeepers game animation continues!
And not just animation- the game engine is being upgraded and polished. Ed tested it with a friend recently, and it was running at a smooth 90 fps.
I'm no scientist, so I don't know if that will be altered based on different computers, or after the game is populated with more assets. But there should be a menu option tha...

Line art from Volume 3, introducing an Indigo on stage. The middle panel took up an entire page of water, when it was drawn. It's one of those iconic poses that really stand out for me in the series.

Animated this based on sketches, and realized... Mace has a really weird way of crawling, but I like it.
In addition to dodging high-flyin' strikes and terrain features, crawling will make characters more stealthy. Solid Snake mode. ...But at the cost of being slower than a run, naturally.
Also cleaning up kicking.

Still tons to d...

I love this pose so much, I constructed a mini platform stage for her. Her pole is simply a pencil covered in tinfoil, but it works. She has crisscrossing ribbons and real bows. She's inspired by the line art in Volume 3, which is tomorrow's Art-ifact.

The sticker of Vi from our calendar, telling it like it is. Personally on Valentine's Day, we like to bake a fruit pie on that day, eat chocolate ice cream, and not go outside in the snow.

So Riiser had a stream way back when, and Dave drew a bit for it at the time. This is what Dave considers to be "a doodle".

Cleanup animation is a skill unto itself. Even beautiful roughs can get flattened and uglified by mediocre cleanup. But ClipStudio is making it easier than ever- letting us add the right amount of smear to smear frames, and get things sharp, with good overlap and smooth ins / outs.
I'm having a good time!

Always remember when dealing with accountants, dull and boring is not the same as stupid. Loose threads get snipped as betrayals come to the surface in the heartwarming bloody climax of Vampire Holidays.
I was enjoying the series, but reading this final chapter is what made me fall in love with it. All the little details align in a deeply satisfying manner.
From Vivid Publishing just in time for Valentine's Day, snag VH5 on Kindle, nook, e-book format of any typ...

Our second character line up, featuring Karo from yesterday's art-ifact. They have a black background so I can print this out and cut out the lines to decorate a float frame. (I've shown this before) I heart float frames! Many of these characters are from their swatch sheets, but some, like Vi and Karo, had to be custom drawn by Dave for the piece.
