And it occurs to me, having PSD files floating around the world isn't exactly the worst idea. Fortunately we didn't lose any comic pages in this crash, but you never know!
Thanks for your patience! Laptop crashed, but I didn't want to compromise on this painting... The morning mist, splashing puddles, deeper pools and glimmer- not to mention, I think this is the first time we've seen sun-rays. (Designed for the video game.)

We're launching an 'artist sponsorship' program.
Sponsored artists are welcomed into our Dealer System, https://vividpub.com/Dealers.php and they create brand new art for us to share with everyone.
Our VTF Publicity Manager is scouting artists now- but for the first illustration, which Dreamkeepers...

Cowboy Bebop keeping me company the other night while the computer was recovering... Building my own personal sublight death machine. Even with the Vivid Battlecruiser behind us, pioneering is risky work.
2020-01-21 06:07:40 +0000 UTC View PostNew idea from Vivid- artist sponsorships.
Why should youtubers and podcasters have all the fun?
Vivid is going to sponsor artists by commissioning Dreamkeepers (or other Vivid series) art, and also hook them up as affiliates in our Dealer System.

That way when they share their art, their audience has a chance to check out Dreamkeepers books & merch ...
2020-01-20 23:05:56 +0000 UTC View PostThis month we added a new Tier- the $120 level 'Associate Producer' tier, for the ritzy movers-and-shakers.
I goofed when making it, and it wound up actually being at $50 because Patreon doesn't let us edit price on tiers.
So anyone at the $50 level this month, you're receiving an Associate Producer credit on the content we've been creating- which is the upcoming "Vivid show," preliminary animation for the video game, plus Prelude & Volume 5. 2020-01-20 17:30:28 +0000 UTC View Post
We have a little over 30 hand drawn Indigo frames from the animation Dave made, as well as matching rough blue print outs that show the motion of the tail. If you would like a handful of these drawings, and are a Mastermind backer or above, please send a private message on Patreon to me, and we are going to ship these out the first of February. There are a variety of poses, each one a little different, and each person who contacts will be getting at least 3 of them.
Thank yo...

This is a piece of Dave's extremely early art (from 1993, he was 10) and I'm very pleased to announce that a large chunk of his early art has come into being for Art-ifacts. I won't throw crude kid's art at you all at once, but some is quite cute and funny. Special thank you to his family who has scanned it all for us, allowing this 'phantom' art to finally be seen by me, and a nice walk down memory lane for Dave.
None of these Art-ifacts are dreamkeeper rel...

2020-01-18 12:59:00 +0000 UTC View PostUnfortunately, we had another computer crash (windows became 100% corrupt) and we lost a bit of work, including this week's Prelude. We will be updating Prelude this weekend, but there will be a delay to get it back on track. Thank you for understanding.

This is a commission of Bobby in briefs from 2018. It reminds me of a jungle cat in the zoo.

This is that commission in full color.

I was then commissioned to create Bobby in briefs as a sculpt. Here are...

To be honest, I think some of Dave's sketches are exceptionally lovely. And sometimes he will take one and color it, just because it looks so nice.

This is a drawing of Karo in flight, the original line art was a kickstarter reward back around 2014 or so. It has long since found a home. He colored a scan and showed the steps. It makes a nice print.
I'm very fond of...

To prep for the Dreamkeepers animated series, we're cutting our teeth on a simpler show for Vivid. A Toonami-style broadcast featuring work from Vivid authors.
One of the main settings- the bridge of our battle cruiser. The control room will host calls from allies (and hostiles) and showcase the 'Exotic Matter' needed to warp us to new worlds.
I wasn't entirely happy with the first design. Considering so much of the show will take place in the command area, I red...

Sometimes it's fun to create mock animation frames of Dave's art for our wall using a float frame. (A frame with two planes of glass). Other times, creating an image and having it printed at Staples for the poor printer's clerk to look at is more rewarding. This time glossy paper strippers at Staples won the toss. Here's an inverted line art piece of key still frames that lead to the central pose. The actual animation uses over thirty pieces of art.
