Hello, Hello,

It's been quite the productive week. The writing is almost done for this release. There's just a few more scenes and the epilogue left to write. I think I might have managed to finish this week, but there were a few coding mishaps. Luckily, I managed to implement everything I designed successfully, but it did steal a day or two of writing. Hello!

First off, I want to thank you for your feedback on the visuals. It's been really helpful and I've reached a conclusion regarding it, which was that the intense colors do heighten the atmosphere, but I should probably not blast the screen with them. I'll be keeping the intensity, but using the lights so that they complement the scene, rather than overwhelm it. Thanks again for the feedback.

I managed to not get sick this week, so things are looking up. I feel like a general progress update is in order as we're really close to hitting the same content amount as the last release.

Another week has passed and it has been a good one. For the most part. I've managed to catch the third cold of the season and it got me down for a few days. Fortunately, the rest of those days we very productive, so let's get to it.

This week, I've been focusing on getting the investigation part functional. The code for it is done, the visuals for one part of it are done, and the text for it is around 80% finished as well. It needed considerably more text than I thought it would. I was expecting this part to be less story intense, but it ended up fairly long.

First update of the year, and we're starting off great.

I've been writing the more intensive scene I mentioned. While I haven't finished writing it as I'd hoped, it's at least 80% done, and that's pretty great since it's pretty long and a bit complex.

Dev Log Update 23-Dec-2022

Hello.

It's been a hell of a week. Both in good and in bad.

We've reached the magical number of 250 total renders this week and have finished a longer scene. Work on rendering the first hangout scene is underway and going pretty well.

As I was hoping, writing has been great and we're nearing 10k words. This is both worrying and satisfying as it seems the release might stretch out longer than I'd anticipated. We'll have to see how the rest goes.

Surprise render

I was messing around, trying to find a cool visual style for some later scenes and this is the result. I thought it looked kinda cool and wanted to share. 

Note: It's only a test render to see how this style works, so it's not an actual render that will be in the game.

This week, I've been working on implementing the text into the game to start some alpha testing and so I can make some builds for my beta readers. I haven't yet implemented the stat experience points, but that's a part of the design I'd rather handle near the end so I can balance it right.

Dev Log Update -- 09 Dec 2022

This week, I've focused on preparing the environment and characters for a (fairly) large scene. It's probably one of the most complex I've done, but definitely not the most complex I'll be doing for this release(because I like punishing myself, I guess).
