Painting Alai: Gold Armor

Hey everyone, today I'm starting to share my painting sessions on the Alai bust with you. I've started with the iconic lion shaped shoulder and decided to go for a gold NMM. It was very very tricky, because the shape is quite wild ( like a lion xD) and the volumes aren't really intuitive. The sessions were tedious, therefore I fast forwarded the footage a bit. This video has no comments, please forgive me, I hope its helpful anyway.

Discord Painting Challenge Results

I just wanted thank you all for your tremendous patience, It took me a while to do this video, because I was just unsure about the way to make it and also the judging is always bit hard for me, because there are too many impressions I have to sort and find a conclusion. Livestream Arcane Caitlyn Bust: Face

Hey everyone, in yesterdays livesession I started the bust of Arcanes Caitlyn character, and had a good time with some skin kung fu. Painting Warm Silver Armor Eleonora Bust

Hey everyone, 

after a lot other stuff in this month, I had finally some time to upload this video. It shows the NMM approach on a less curved panel at the neck of this armor. It is the Eleonora bust, and a commission work for a collector. The process starts bit different then it ends, but this way I maintain the warmth in the metal, and can transform in the lower areas to a full warm hue without having a break in the harmony. Painting Lion El'Jonson Part 2

Dear Patrons, today I share how I proceeded the green NMM on the upper areas, with the same goal for textures and interesting hints. The shoulder is quite important, it drags a lot of attention on him, so it will get completed with gold in the next episode. For textures on this scale I suggest you a very sharp tip, too thick strokes will look off. Do them as neat you can. There aren't too subtle textures in my opinion. Have fun watching! Painting Commander Dante Part 3

Hey folks, today I update you with some more painting on Dante, this time some silver parts. Always fiddly in that size. I think it is quite important to not overdilute the paints, the smaller the details get. Otherwise there is no real control, when paint starts to swim away. Especially on edges. And edgehighlights are even more eyecatching on those small detailled bits. Its worth the effort to highlight each feather of the wings for example. The extra time pays really off. Painting Knights Templar Part 3

Material Series: Cold Steel

Hey peeps, In this part I have painted the shader ball in a cold steel silver metal  look. Once again with only Vallejo paints. I felt quite confident with  the soft opacity of the grey paints. Adding Dark Blue give it a cold  feel. The white is also soft enough for the highlights, and didn´t end  up too chalky. The transistions could be smoother, but thats not caused  by the paints, it was rather my long break between the two takes and  finding the right groove...
