Double Date Dare -1- by Melanie E

"You've gotta be shitting me," I said, glaring at my best friend. She was giving me her best puppy dog eyes, but I was having none of it: those had stopped working on me after they resulted in me being caught trying to run a pair of Sandy's underwear up the flagpole at our church.

She'd still never told me why she thought it would be funny in the first place.

"Come on, Donny! It'll be fun, and it's just our junior prom: you'll have a chance to dress in a tux and go again next year...

Butterscotch -32- Armandia

Armand shook off the spell I had cast first. For a moment, his dark face had gotten darker, but he quickly got to the business of running the game.

“I’ve made up characters for everyone to choose from, two or three for each of you,” he said. “I’ve even got extras that you can choose from, Beeson, if you want to play for at least tonight. This isn’t going to be a game where you have to be here every time to play your character. If you show up, I’ll work you in.”

He ...

The Loft -4-

I blink dizzily as I come up for air! My heart is beating hard and my lips are tingling sensually from the sweet and tender kiss that Kim just gave me. She looks deep into my eyes and smiles, then kisses me again—a little more passionately this time.

To say that I’m confused would be a huge understatement! I taste her lipstick and saliva commingling with mine and have a rush of conflicting feelings. To be honest, this—well, technically it was the one a few seconds ago—i...

Like Tears - by Melanie E

I looked around nervously as I entered the building, jumping at every reflection in the shiny marble tiles. The twenty or so feet across the lobby felt like a million miles as I approached the desk to speak to the smiling synth who sat behind it, her almost translucent skin and pink hair giving away her nature even as her emulated human personality made her smile no less friendly.

"Hello sir, and welcome to BodyCorp, how can I help you today?"

I looked around again, anxiously. I k...

Albert’s head rested on my knee, and I scratched the hard knobs on his skull with my long nails. Looking out the windows at blurry objects speeding by made me dizzy, so I watched Gordon. In profile, he looked sort of dramatic, like a movie hero.

“Did you remember any more?” he asked.

I shook my head. “Just being in the water and being cold.”

He looked sideways at me. “Someone must know you’re missing. They’re probably looking for you. And,” he paused. “We...

Falling in Love with Autumn

The desert mountains around me are not quite like any other landscape.
They have a reserved lushness like a distracted beach or an absentee forest.

The colors of gold and bronze and silver dominate in the autumn,
treasures that were stored up in greener times.

Oceans have their deep song and forests their slow dance,
but the desert always rhymes best.

The Loft -3- by Shauna Rousseau

I wake up and look around the bright room in confusion. Then the fog in my brain slowly recedes as I remember where I am—The Loft!

The sun is shining in, unfettered, through the large studio windows—and straight into my eyes. I shade them with my hand and blink to clear out the little dots dancing in my vision—I guess I should have pulled the heavy drapes closed before going to bed.

Wide awake now, I snuggle back into the soft s...

Butterscotch -31- Gamers

Rory parked his big truck outside Armand’s house amid the expensive homes near the west edge of Los Feliz. The sunset lit up a few clouds in the western sky with red and gold. An onshore flow had already begun, ruffling the leaves of the tall California palms lining the street.

I sat and waited for Rory to run around the truck and help me out. We got a couple more kisses out of the deal. “They don’t call me Kissy, for no reason at all,” I told him. He laughed as he dashed back a...

Frog Juice -- by Melanie E.

-1-

Of all the boys in my biology class, of course, I would end up paired with Eddie Townsend.

It wasn't that I didn't like Eddie: just the opposite, in fact. I liked Eddie very much. Everyone did. He was one of the tallest kids in our grade, and handsome and strong and played on the baseball team, though I could never remember what he played. He was nice, and funny, and smart, with golden hair and flecks in his green eyes that matched—everything you could ever want in a guy. View Post

Outlook Hazy, Ask Again

We've been a bit behind the ol' Magic 8-Ball here in Southern California for the last three weeks. The smoke, even at low levels where I am, is playing Dodge Ball with my wimpy, girly, nerdy sinuses.

I'm safe and my energy levels seem to be getting out of the Valley of Mordor, so look for more content over the next week or so.

Inshallah and the crick don't rise.

No Strings Attached -- by Melanie E

"How did you say this happened again?" Doctor Amir asked, baffled.

"Well, I got up this morning and went to take a piss, right?" Jeremy said, shifting a bit to try and get more comfortable in the unfamiliar stirrups. "And while I was standin' there, I noticed this piece of white string stuck to the side of the shaft, so I thought it was just schmutz. But I went to take it off, and it was attached to something."

The doctor looked up from his examination. "And you kept pulling?"

I stepped out of the hall, only a tiny bit wobbly on my heels, into the living room to see Marjorie and Mom standing near the arch into the kitchen while Rory stood up from sitting in the big chair. “Wow, Kissy,” he seemed to want to laugh. “I haven’t seen you in a dress before, you look great.”

From the kitchen area, Marjorie commented. “She should always wear dresses. Hello, Kissy. You look wonderful.” And she was also smiling. “I knew that color would sui...

Albert’s excitement warned me in time to turn around and see Gordon emerge from blurry distance, carrying a large bag with the store logo on it. Clothes. Girl clothes. I had mixed feelings about this.

Albert beat a tattoo on the glass with his paws then put his nose up to the tiny crack Gordon had left at the top of the window. The dog all but howled.

I could hear Gordon trying to calm him down over the racket. It was comical, and I heard someone giggling then reali...

Queer -2- Research

I had no idea how to become queer, and further, no idea how to find out about the subject. And how was I to find out if Paul wanted me to be queer for him?

Tommy offered no real help, even though he had forgiven me. He didn’t have any other friends either. We left school together that first day and attended classes just like we had at Canyon Balboa Elementary. This was a fair walk, more than a mile each way, up and down hills. But we would never ride the bus.

Special FX -13- Cute Voice!

We got out of Target with only a few more purchases and mildly serious damage to my male ego. It was impossible to look at myself in a mirror and see Billy Jones, the guy from Bakersfield who wanted to be an actor. I didn’t look like a guy named Billy, or a guy at all. I could change the spelling, to Billie, or Billi, or Billee, but that wouldn’t solve another problem.

Butterscotch -29- Dress-up

Mom tried to talk me out of wearing the corset but I wanted to dress up for Rory and the gaming guys and the only way I would fit into any of the dresses I owned was if I wore a corset.

“Mom, please,” I said. “All of these lace up in back. I need help to put them on.”

“If you were experienced you could put on and take off even back-lacing corsets like these,” she said, examining the three samples I had.

“Really?” I couldn’t imagine how. With the corse...

Sam and Del -12- Shopping is such a drag

Sis explained camel-toe to me. Gross. I think it took most of fifteen minutes for me to stop blushing. I would have a worse problem if something showed through my panties than imaginary desert ungulates, but the bike shorts took care of that. The front of my capris stayed completely flat.

"We need to do something about that flat butt, though," said Mom, watching me walk away.

"What? Why?" I protested, turning around. Someone being critical of the shape of my butt was ...

“You need something to wear,” Gordon said as he turned the pickup into a big parking lot. He moved through the aisles to get closer to the front door of the gigantic store. “Do you know your sizes?”

“Sizes?” I said. We don’t need no stinking sizes, I wanted to say.

He shook his head, smiling. He parked the truck and turned the engine off, then looked at me as if measuring with his gaze. “Small,” he said. “Except—” he made a gesture at his chest...

Stolen -9- Darkness

I heard Bonnie leave the bedroom outside my closet prison and the door to the hallway close. She had locked the closet door already, and now I heard her turn a key in the door to Moose’s room. I was doubly locked in as well as my hands bound behind me and my ankles taped to my thighs.

I lay alone in the darkness, trying to resist the urge to panic. Tears tried to start, but they wouldn’t be any help, and with no way to wipe my nose, might make breathing more difficult, and cer...
