Feats

Feats are a kind of catchall term for abilities that are neither class features nor skills nor spells. We got a pretty good crop of them to pick from.

Dreamspace: You gain a pocket plane that you can only access while sleeping. You are unaware of the world outside while in Dreamspace, but you may store items there and use your night however you wish, waking up fully rested as if you had slept normally for the same period of time. Can be upgraded with additional feats.

Species

Pathfinder has many, MANY races but let’s stick with the ones that are good at being sorcerers, eh?

Humans: the most basic, yet excellent, of all species. They can be good at literally anything and have no weaknesses, but they have no abilities that are unique to them.

Tiefling: Specifically Rakshasa Spawn. The most thematically linked to our class, has special fiendish magic, and has good stats for a charismatic thief. Poor impulse control and mental defenses.

The At-will spells! Mostly exist for utility outside of combat, but you’ll occasionally get something decent in a fight. Emrys gets 4. 

Starting spells

As an actual starting character Emrys would get to choose his starting spells himself, but by the lore sorcerers don’t have much control over such things. I decided to take a middle path and roll for a handful of spells to select from. None of them are exactly bangers, but he‘ll get more later. He gets 2 to start with.

Daughter of a sailor, Sandara swore her life to the goddess of storms, sea monsters, and piracy in exchange for his safety. A nice enough girl, but she has a religious obligation to crush you if you get in her way. 

Build

We have narrowed down the class, but each class has multiple variants available. I’ve chosen six possibilities that seem most appealing to me and outlined their biggest assets. This will be a rags to riches pirate story, starting on Emrys’s first day on a pirate ship.

Rakshasa blooded- a sorcerer descended from the hedonistic tiger headed rakshasa. They lie with incredible skill and tend to be good with disguises and manipulation, both magical and mundane.

This story will have the same ultimate frame story. The Company purchased a soul and is placing someone in a fictional world of their own design to test its value as a form of entertainment. But there are multiple ways that could go. 

Class

The only thing I require for Emrys is that he be a spontaneous caster. I just feel like those would be the most fun to play around with as a writer. That still leaves us with quite a spread.
If we choose a religious class, then we will choose a patron Deity to follow later.
