I received a reply to my question from Patreon and as I understand it, your reward is based on your pledge amount and not what tier you are placed in.
This means if you have not switched over to a new tier, and still pledging at the old $1 and $3 tiers then when I post content you will not receive it since you are not pledging a dollar amount that I will be posting under.

I have set up the new pledge tiers and set my account to monthly, on the 18th, I will then switch it to 'Charge Patrons upfront' so you can sign up for the tiers you want now and not me charged immediately.

Going to Monthly charges starting January 18th.
The price tiers are as follows:
$5: Access to comics in full resolution one month early before posting on FA
$10: Every thing in the $5 tier and extra pics and sketches
$20: Every thing in the $5 and $10 tier, plus access to Patreon only streams on Picarto every Saturday starting at 1pm CST.
$50 Every thing in the $5, $10, and $20 plus once per month, a two-character color commission, with minimal back ground (4 available slots only)

Of course after I make my 'big' post about changes to my Patreon page, they go and release polls.
Go figure.
On the bright side it will most certainly make doing the $20 tier option easier to pull off.

I'm going to take the dive and go to monthly charges. With that will be some changes on what goes on here. For over a year now I have been doing four page short stories each month. I want to go back to doing longer, open ended stories. I have been playing with a smaller page layout which I'm really liking and finding some benefits such as:
