Every now and then, when writing a comic, some pages just seem to flow into one another very naturally. This was one of those pages for me. Olivia spreading and offering a taste, while having a taste of wine, followed up by Shivani and Meiling with a mouthful of one another's boobs... it all just made sense.

I knew I wanted a bit of a different and fun dynamic for this scene, and adding in Catalina alongside Olivia really gave me a new vibe. That coupled with Olivia's current drunken and more carefree attitude provided with a bit of fun little moments, like the bargain here.

Powered up

I have power back, finally! Just wanted to let you guys know what is up with upcoming updates. There's still a good bit of tidying up and settling back in that needs to happen before I'm back to full steam and working on pages and such.

This weeks pages were all (luckily) completed before my power went out, so they are all set and scheduled to post. I won't be posting any new pages next week as I try to get my schedule back in order and catch up from the 5+ days I was unable to do anyth...

I also thought it would be a nice chance to show off the different tone between the different people who have grouped/paired up, particularly with the Lorraine and Lupe pairing.

Oh, it's THAT kind of party!

No power

Bad news everyone, my area has been wrecked by the hurricane. I haven’t had power the last two days and I don’t know when we’ll have it again. I temporarily have internet just briefly so I wanted to update you all. I’m not sure when I’ll have access again. Several updates are already scheduled, but obviously future updates may be affected as it’s tough to draw digital stuff on my computer with no power. Anyway I’m safe and alive, but we may be in for a tough stretch here.

This will be the final version of this pic, for now at least. I may come back and add in a couple more ladies, after I'm done with the Flintstones parody mini. I think there's room for probably 4 more ladies if I ever decide to return to it, but I think I am content with this current version as it is.

I feel like Catalina has the right attitude to get along very well with the more adventurous Book Club ladies. I thought it would be a lot of fun to put her and Olivia together. Just something in my head made me think they would be a lot of fun together.

I wanted to try to do more "split pages" in this issue, making sure to show various scenes as they are all happening simultaneously around the party. I think it helps give a sense of scope of all the action taking place.

For this page, I also ended up adding in a couple of extra panels from what I originally had scripted. Usually I follow fairly close to what I have written, only changing some text here and there occasionally. Every now and again as I am laying out the page I feel the ...

The Book Club #13 - Page 36 (Pencils and Inks)

Things are really heating up, both in the hot tub and in the garage. Meiling and Olivia both showcasing their seduction skills and willingness to entertain other guests at the party.

Keen eyed viewers my notice I flipped the panel of Olivia in the hot tub. I felt the layout worked better when I mirrored it, not just for visual, but also for the flow of dialogue.

Modern Stone-Age Housewives - Cover (Pencils & Inks)

Here's the inks and sketches for the cover. My original design had Wilma on the other side of Betty, but I went back and revised it later, flipping her to the left side instead. This kept Wilma from blocking the view of Betty's side boob and I adjusted her position a bit more to allow some peeks at Wilma's chest as well. I do like the original design still, but I ended up thinking the revision was slightly better.

There's gonna be a lot of bouncing around in this issue, so don't get too settled into any one scene, because it's likely to shift focus around the party.

I have done some peeping stuff for a few characters in various spots throughout comics, but I haven't really done much with someone getting caught. I thought the phone drop after Shivani using it to peep would work out well.

I wanted to have a more intimate scene with Lupe and Lorraine. I know a lot of people probably wanted to see them dive into the group scene with Nicole and the two guys, but I felt that with the long build up between the two of them, it's best to get some one on one time with them. I think this allows for a good showcase of how their personalities and attractions play out more.

Since Lupe's main role in the comic has largely been as an observer, I thought it was fitting that while she had the night off, she wouldn't pass up the opportunity to keep an eye on what Lorraine and Nicole were up to in the other room. This time, not shielding her eyes.

A bit of bad news, no new pages next week. Had a really rough week this week and just not able to get the pages ready for the upcoming week. So we'll have a bit of a mini-break as I can hopefully have a better week this week and get things back on track.
