Design Creamy Cosmetics for Clients with Cinema 4D

Hi Friend,s

I decided to give away one lesson for free on Youtube before we dive into more patreon exclusive content again soon!

This technique might need some practise until you get the best results, but don´t worry. It´s pretty normal that you go through a lot of trial and error and basically get rid of 90% of shapes that don´t work.

Let´s talk more about Fluid Shapes next Week.

Lil´teaser for my design friends. I want to show you how you can create beautiful fluidbodies for product money shots / print campaigns.

What you really need to know about Viscous Simulations

Hi Friends,

This is a 53 minutes lesson of  "Everything that you need to know about Viscous Simulations" with the Nexus Fluid solver.

I probably will record an additional lesson with some additional slightly more advanced knowledge, but this lesson should definitely give you a good overview to already achieve some pretty nice simulations.

So let´s get a little bit more technical and break down the different simulation parameters ...

What you really need to know about Viscous Simulations Teaser

Hi Friends,

I will share almost an hour of "Everything that you need to know about Viscous Simulations" with you today (....the lesson is already shared by now;-).

There is just a lot of demand from clients for small/medium scale simulations like this, so that´s why I wanna deepen this knowledge and add different techniques to your and my toolkit and I hope that you are with me;-).

Let´s just get a little bit more technical this time and View Post

Create a Cosmetic Product Shot 02

Just a little bonus to the previous lesson, where I apply some more materials and play more with the lighting.

Next lesson will probably be a breakdown or more-detailed explanation on how to work with the Nexus Fluid Solver.

Create a Cosmetic Product Shot 01

This is part 01 of the "making it beautiful" part, where I show you how I created the final rendering. I also talk about meshing and smoothing your simulations and a lot about how I like to use gobos in my lighting setup

Viscous Fluidbody Alembic File for Today´s Lesson

...included in your membership as a free download.

300 frames of a visous simulation, meant as a starting file for everyone, who just wants to create a beautiful product rendering with me today.

( We´ll dive back into fluid settings after this easy-going beginners lesson today).

Alembic File01 for January 2025 Fluid Lessons

300 frames of one of my viscous fluid simulationes , saved as an alemibc file for everyone who doesnt want to simulate their own fluidbody for one of the lessons in Janaury 2025. It´s meant as a starting file for the "making it beautiful" lesson, so you have a nice simulation colliding with the product already in your file.

Let´s make some beautiful Product Shots today!

Friends,

I´ll record a "makeing-it-beautiful" lesson now and share it later with you. After that, I will create another lesson where I go through some fluid setups more in detail, so you know exactly what I´m doing to get different fluid bodies.

PS: Which of these two versions do you enjoy more?

See you later!

Honey, Oil, Cream. What do you prefer?

Hi Friends,

I just wanted to share some (basic) thoughts about different fluid settings and the endless possibilies for different aesthetics and behaviours you can achieve by changing settings for your fluid body.

It´s just a quick overview to show you the possibilities and give you some excitement, probably later I can also do a full scene-breakdown for a simulation.

Edit: Don't worry, I'm also creating a step-by-step breakdown and share my exactly workflow the upcoming da...

Playing with Viscous Settings on Sunday

Friends,

I just wanted to share a short insight on different settings for the fluid solver, to get different values of viscosity. I will test more simulation settings to get a great result that I can then share with you as an alembic download.

Then we will apply beautiful shaders on our fluid and cosmetic product, light it and just create an awesome looking product render.

Lets get started with Viscous Fluids!

Hi Friends,

Lets start with viscous fluids for our cosmetic produc shots!

This is an intro with a basic setup and understanding of the different main parameters to give your fluid a more viscous "honey-like" appearance.

I was a bit unprecise with my explanation at some point, so let me quickly explain the main thing you have to understand about the Nexus PBD Fluid Solver:

Different parameters will either "push" particles away or "pull" th...

Some Images of what you get with the Cosmetic Starter Kit in the Knights Tier

As you can see, my buddy / 3D-modelling expert Julien Jiang took care, that we get some really nice all-quads topology and the details are nice and smooth. Just in case we wanna go closer with the camera for some close-up shots.

He also made sure that we have clean UV´s and created some additional labels so that we can put our logos/font directly onto the product or onto a thin label.

Now... we are well prepared for some upcoming lessons on product rendering in combinatio...

C4D 2025.1 New Particles Color Mapping Technique

Hi Friends,

this is just one more youtube promo/teaser for the upcoming cosmetic asset kit + product rendering lessons on which I will focus througout January here on patreon.

(Plus, I share a new technique that I learned from the Maxon live-recodings and varied it a little bit).

PS: I will share the asset kit by the end of the week with a first cosmetic product rendering lesson.

January Content on Patreon Intro + 50% Discount for new Members

Hi Friends,

this is a short intro on what you can expect in January (and maybe also in February) on my patreon + a free youtube version of the "Faking Liquids with C4D´s new Particles" lesson.

I also created a special 50% discount for completely new members if they subscribe to a Knights membership until 1st February 2025. So if you are thinking about becoming a patreon, this could be a good option.

Work-In-Progress for the "Cosmetic Asset Kit"

Friends,

just look what Julien is cooking for us! These are just 3 models he is working on right now, but I think we will manage to create a total of 4-6 unique all-quads high-quality 3D assets with prepared placeholder textures, so that we can easily place our own logos/text/fonts on them.

Me and Julien are looking for a nice variation of shapes, so that you and me then can create all kinds of cool product shots in combination with liquid simulations...

Visualising Noises with Particle Node Modifier

I´ll just continue my studies on the Particle Nodes Modifier in C4D 2025.1.1.

I got this knowledge from the "Whats New in C4D 2025.1" video on Maxons Youtube channel, but I wanted to build it from start to finish and make my own version, just to understand it better.

Particle Node Modifier + Fields Basic Knowledge

Friends,

I continue to study these new particles features with the help of maxon´s youtube channel and try to condense my new gained knowledge into easy to understand beginner lessons. As you know, I´m not an expert with nodes, thats why I go slow through the techniques to really understand them.

PS: I hope that I can share some work-in-progress screenshots from the cosmetic product assets this evening.

C4D 2025.1.1 New Particles Features: Not so easy to wrap my Head around this one!

Friends,

I finally had time to dive into the new particles features in 2025.1.1 and let me say: It was a bit harder then usual to understand it;-).

I was watching the "Whats new in Cinema 4D 2025.1" video on Maxon´s Youtube channel but I will be honest: In my opinion they go to fast through these techniques and I had to go slow and recreate the examples to understand it.

Just to make this clear: This is a slow recreation of one of...

Welcome to 2025! Super nice to have you here.

Lately I mostly have clients out of the beauty / cosmetics sector, so I thought its a good idea to dedicate this whole month to cosmetic products.

There is a lot to discover and I am especially excited about using fluid simulation tools (since I haven´t used them for a long time). Therefore I need to study the latest development/updates in the Insydium tools, but first:

thank you for an amazing 2024 and I´m excited for another year with you!

Here is a last "tutorial" about my plans and routines for 2025! I probably talk a bit too much about sports, fitness, muscle-growth and how I exactly make my breakfast, but anyway!

Thank you and see you soon. Happy new Year to all of you!

Starting Work again on Monday

I´m taking a short break from work and making some plans for 2025 in terms of work / life / sports and on Monday I´ll start a new chapter. I always like to combine this little fresh start with a fresh notebook and some new daily routines, stuff like that. I also rework my sports routine, inspired by one of Jeff Nippard Bodybuilding training splits. Yeah, sports became pretty important for me to stay fit while doing 3D;-).
