Friends,
let me share these 3 Professional Product Lighting Breakdowns + C4D Lighting/Stage Files with you.
As I explained in my post entry on 14th December, I can´t share the 3D models of the bottles with you, but I still share some really strong lighting knowledge + the C4D lighting files. So I would say... it´s still a pretty nice learning package!
You can place your own products in the C4D files of course, but I will also try to come up with some repla...

Friends,
First let me reassure you that I am absolutely thankful that thanks to your support, I was able to build up one of the leading C4D learning /teaching communities over the last 4 years. Trust me: I have cool plans for the 3D Bonfire Patreon and Youtube channels / communities for 2025. I don´t have any reasons/intentions to slow down or anxieties in terms of AI , but still see a bright future and lot´s of opportunities for Designers / Ar...

Friends,
Just one more design theory lesson before we dive into C4D and I will break down one or two of the techniques/files from the project for you!
I´m sure, you are especially curious about the nice "particle-lines-grid" effect from the thumbnail, right?

Alright Friends,
I know, I´m going very much into the details but I just wanted to take the chance to give you detailed insights into the design workflow / thinking in my client projects.
Besides the C4D techniques, I´m sure these insights can be useful especially for new artists who don´t have so many client experience yet.
Have a nice weekend everyone! Best,
Markus

Friends,
Let´s jump into my breakdown/recap of this title sequence for the 37th America´s Cup sponsored by Louis Vuitton.
First I talk in general about the overall process in such projects to give you a good overview/feeling about how it is to work as a professional 3D Artist.
Of course every project is different and different artist have different approaches to their work, but yeah: this is how it works for me.

Hi Friends,
one of my latest clients gave my green lights to talk about the project on which I teamed-up with them. I share already some styleframes with you that I created for the animation piece, but let me give you a full breakdown of my part in the project later this week!
Best,
Markus

Friends!
I never thought about clicking onto this magical button and get access to a way more easy way to create my lights exactly how I want them to be.
Especially for product shots, were the light just has to be tweaked until perfection, this is a very powerful way to go!
Of course I will still use my "traditional method" to set up lights but it looks like this will make my lighting workflow from now on way more efficient.

Friends,
another C4D File I must have missed to share. Sorry for that!
Here it comes. It´s really just a curtain which opens with some keyframes.
But you can see, I just lately used such a curtain in this perfume bottle shot as a background.
Depending on the resolution that you want for the cloth, you can increase or decrease the polycount of your "curtain". Just be sure that for the thin polygon object which I called "pin" you might also want to adjust the polycount....

Friends,
it looks like I have missed to share this file!
I think there is not so much about this one, it´s just the basic logo animation with some keyframes. For the material setup, please scroll down in my patreon timeline to the 2 tutorials. I´m sure I talked a little bit about the shaders that I tried for the logo.
Some of them should also be in the file, but you can and should play with the different shader parameters to get exactly the look you are after.
I thin...

Friends,
I didn´t had a chance to dive into the new C4D 2025.1 version so far but I´m just seeing that C4D got a new modernized boolean system! That is indeed something that I´m a very curious and hyped about, because...oh man, you know, all of those latest assets/shapes for the perfume playground are all modeled with C4D booleans and I use booleans in client work all the time.
If Maxon manages to make boolean operations...

Therefore, let´s study this kind of light setup soon.

Perfumes are not included in this file.
I will also provide you with a tutorial soon on how to use the file in the best way, but until then: Maybe some of my shapes are interesting for you and you can use them in a product shot with abstract background objects.

Friends,
for todays special "Black Friday" Training + Assets I just wanted to do one last teaser and ask you: Which of those versions is your favorite! I am just really curious.
I´m gonna share the C4D playground projectfile + training lesson later today.
See you very soon!

Trust me Friends, this scene will be a perfect playground to arrange all kind of nice "photo-shootings" with our perfume bottles! I made it intentionally a bit more complex, so you can find nice angles/situations all over the stage.
Also, these costum-made shapes will be perfect assets to use them in a more reduced scene.
Can´t wait to play with lights/cameras/materials and share it!

Testing different scene setups and playing with different ideas takes me a bit more time then expected, but I´ll start recording soon.

Hi Friends,
Follow me along while I freestyle a scene for a potential shot from a client project. I promise you: At least once in your career you will let a client product get manufactured in some kind of cool/fun factory and let these products fly through some pipe-system.
So common, I think you really should be able to build shots like this easily and feel just comfortable with creating all kinds of different shapes for your potential clients.
Yes, you can...

Here´s an important addition, in case you want to keep your setup a bit more procedural. But fo rnow, enough about spline-based modelling.
Next I want to share some very important knowledge about boolean-operation-based modelling, to create interesting shapes superfast.

It´s Bevel Time! Can´t mention this enough, how important the perfect bevels on your edges are. If you get them right, it just makes the difference between an average rendering and a perfect one.

Friends,
finally its content sharing time here on patreon! And hey, I know, I know... you might say/think: Markus, this is boring stuff man! I don´t need that kind of tools in my skillset. But just trust me that I use these "boring" tools on a daily basis when I design for clients.
In this first lesson I focus on spline-based modelling but I actually in part 02 we combine it. with volume builder/mesher modelling which I absolutely love...

Friends,
this is a short free intro on my youtube channel to the latest lessons which are exclusively here for you guys on my patreon. It has a bit of a catchy/cheesy title, but well... I really mean it like that haha.
Mograph + Fields are just used in all my client projects to some extent and you just have to master them, I guess.
Best,

In this one I´m varying the overall approach just slightly by working with mograph selections and different cloner systems.

Friends,
I decided to break down 3 more C4D files, inspired by one of my latest client projects for Kongsberg Digital and Microsoft, just to make sure, you understand all bits and pieces about these techniques.
I know, I know. You have probably seen enough cubes by now for this month. But there are still some nice learning take-aways for those who are willing to get a deeper understanding.

And here is another file, inspired by my latest project.
It´s just so much fun to explore these spaces, which open up when you erase fractions of the cube instances. Almost like sculpting with C4D noises or something like that.
Check out these different resolutions for different styles. You got a favorite?

Hi Friends,
I will be back next week with C4D Training, but for today, let me share an example file with you which includes a lot of the ideas/principles that I was talking about in the last lesson.
I would suggest, you just go and activate the effectors one by one and see how I used it´s shader field with a noise to achieve a certain effect.
And: Decrease the amount of cloners temporarily, so that the scenes playback speed is butterly-smooth.
Pretty easy, but very p...
