Here's the next patron request image, for rnixon, and no, your eyes are not deceiving you, it's all in grayscale, because this image is intended to be used as a desktop picture on an e-reader tablet, which can display only 16 shades of gray.

Working with such a limited color palette ended up being more of a challenge than I was anticipating, so I think I went slightly overboard to try and keep the general snazziness level up.

The wind harp sits on top of a hill near the San Francisco Airport, so airplanes were constantly going overhead while I was there. There's actually a little red light attached to the top of it, to prevent airplanes from running into it at night.

For those of you with an interest in filming locations, this was shot on the lawn surrounding the base of the Cabot, Cabot and Forbes Wind Harp tower in south San Francisco.

It's a huge metal tower that plays music when the wind blows through it, as it was on the day I was there. Covered with a fine patina of rust, it looks like something out of a Star Trek episode:

Way back when I was doing per-production for COBALT: The Comic Book, I designed the Skypad to be his home. And I spent a bunch of time working out the look of the outside, but the inside I sort of cheaped out on. I had a floorplan for the top floor, but the rest of it was left open plan, so that I could insert any room that the current storyline required.
