Hi, I share here a screenshot of the bottom of page 1, for the future episode 4. I'm working with a new method to improve the visuals, expressions and the mood of each panels. Result, I get something more near to the artistic rendering i'm looking for ; less digital, and exposing more the craftsman' s work, happy-accidents, and organic painting stroke a human can do. There is still a lot of work ahead to complete the episode 4. I'm very happy to see how Pepper&Carrot grows, it gives me a lot...

Gmic line-art colorization

I'm using really recent open technologies to color the upcoming episode 3, so I decided to post on my blog an article/tutorial about what I use : the new Gmic beta colorize filter http://www.davidrevoy.com/article240/gmic-line-art-colorization

View Post

Hi, Last weeks I drew a lot and I have since yesterday my seven pages ready to be colored on my disk. A big step. All line-art are already scan, clean, with speechbubbles, texts and panels. I took me time to adopt and rethink a new list of technical standards too : - I split now each episode by 300ppi A4 pages in the source, to ease printing publishing of Pepper&Carrot, and future *.epub format. - I also use now an open-font named 'Lavi'. With this one, I'll be able to bundle the font in t...

Screenshot description (in attachment) : 1st page of ep3 during production, and storyboard next to it. In a corner, a photo during the process of drawing 1st panel. Hi ! Step by step, little by little, the episode 3 is taking shape. It took me time to start the production of the real pages but now I'm on it, and I progress daily. Why so long ? During August, I felt I had to *design better* the universe of Pepper&Carrot. And it means I had to review many ideas, story, draw more concept-art i...

Pepper character design

Hi, here is a speedpainting research about Pepper. As you saw on the previous comic I had a little issue to decide about her design ( in ep1 she is younger than in ep2 ). For the work-in-progress ep3, I decided to work on her design a lot. This speedpainting is one of my research the more near to what I'm looking for after dozens of sketch : not too young, not too old, full of energy and funny. Ep3 will reveal more about her personnality. Feedback and crits welcome :-)
