Salt Lake Comic Con

So yeah, here we are at our fourth (fifth?) show in a row, the Salt Lake Comic Con. It's always interesting to come "home" and to see how things have changed, and it's awesome to be able to see my family for a bit. The show ends tomorrow (yeah, on a Saturday), and then the 12 hour drive back home through some of the most beautiful country on Earth.
Anyway, if you are coming to the show, we're on the 700 aisle, booth 732!

Santa Fe Ren Faire

Here's our set up in Santa Fe this weekend. This is a nice little non-permanent ren fair that's local to us so at least I get to sleep in my own bed at night. (But ugh, the dust!)
The fair runs through today, and after that? We might be doing Salt Lake Comic Con next weekend (if we can get in), and/or the Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Balloon Fiesta show here in 'Burque (again, if we get in). If both of those fall through, then I dunno. We really need another show before October. We'll see wh...

Recovering from DC

Our cat, Coo, sums it all up right now.

We got home from Dragon Con last Wednesday and have been running around playing catch up since then. Errands, cleaning, chores, shopping...there is a lot that gets set aside when a big show like DC looms. And it all needs to be taken care of afterwards. At some point the pre-con prep, a 22 hour drive, load-in/set-up, long hours, constant crowds, too little sleep, tear-down/load-out, and another 22 hour drive takes its toll, and that's when you final...

Dragon Con!

Hello from Dragon Con! We're here in Atlanta at the Americas Mart (Bldg 2) on the first floor of the dealers room. Find us up front on the second aisle booths 1204 and 1206. We'll be here all day today, tomorrow, and until 5 PM on Monday. We have lots of cool stuff including our new wolf and dragon t-shirt, so come check us out!

Bubonicon

So I have been working on the new tribal t-shirt design with Sandra, and now I am at our small local Sci-Fi/Fantasy show Bubonicon. It's a nice low-key show with plenty of fellow book nerds and writers, so I feel right at home. Plus I get to sleep in my own bed at night!
However, we are leaving bright and early on Tuesday to drive to Atlanta for Dragon Con, and I am scrambling to get ready for that as well. Which means late nights and early mornings right now while I juggle the show and makin...

"Alliance" Dragon-Wolf Tribal Tee

What I've been working on for the last week or so. Vectoring is a bitch when there's this much of it, but it came out really cool! Sandra did the lines and directed, and I did the tribals, vectoring, and color work in Photoshop.

We are now taking pre-orders for this t-shirt, for delivery after Sept. 12th. https://www.etsy.com/listing/538843946/red-dragon-white-wolf-tee

Greetings from Flagstaff

Hello all! Here's our set-up in Flagstaff, Arizona this weekend. It's the last day for Art in the Park and it has been just a lovely weekend of art, music, and food.

I'd like to thank you all for another month of patronage! After this show, I will be home until Dragon Con on Labor Day weekend (Sept 1), and I am determined to get my pile(s) of commissions whittled down. No more interruptions, delays, and set backs!

I also want to get back to work on Sacred Earth and get it finished...

Yard work, and paradise.

Spending the day doing yard work and spending time in the most gorgeous garden center I've ever been to. I could seriously live here, and it's only fifteen minutes from the house (this is not my yard, this is the garden center). You guys should see the whole place. It's a hidden gem in the high desert ❤️ 🌿🍃🌷🌸🌼🌻🌳

Greetings from PCC!

I'm finally finished setting up and tweaking the booth here at Phoenix Comic Con! Ready for the rest of the weekend, where I get to meet my fans, see old friends, and (maybe?) make new ones. Even though I am a serious introvert and would rather be home reading a book, this forces me to get out and be social. Which I hate. But it's good for me LOL.

Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!

So not a lot of art has gotten done this month. Not too happy about that, but with one sick dog, and getting ready for two opposing shows at the end of the month, as well as mail-outs to Memorial Day Weekend art shows...it isn't going to let up soon.

Throw into the mix this little boy. We welcomed a new family member into our home yesterday, flown in all the way from Minneapolis (where a friend found him as a stray). His name right now is "Caleb" (but that's not his name. He is SO not keeping ...

The show must go on

What I went through this morning to drive the fifteen miles to our show down in town. Made it safely (obviously) but yeah, things we have to do for our shows.

Rainy Work Day

View from the deck of the home I share with Sandra here in the East Mountains near Albuquerque. This is the desert so it rarely rains. Today is one of those exceptions. That is a mountain, the Sandia Crest, shrouded in rain clouds. The air smells absolutely wonderful today.

I wish I could spend the day writing, but we have a (local) show coming up this weekend, the big Gathering of Nations Pow Wow, so I am in the frame room today matting and framing. Ugh.

Oh well, I will be back to...

What to get an introvert for her birthday?

Much-anticipated new release signed by the author, box of equisite chocolates, hand-thrown tea mug, and dorky socks. I love my wolf sister Hish so much. She knows me so damned well LOL. I just had to share such a lovely gift <3

For those of you who haven't pledged to be part of my Patreon yet, for only $2 you can watch my progress as I paint this piece. I'll be explaining my process, and will show you my painting materials, plus all the other usual goodies you get by being a Patron. All of this exclusive goodness, only on Patreon!

Charging up front

Just a heads up to everyone that I have now been included in Patreon's "Charge Up Front" feature. This doesn't affect those who are already Patrons, just anyone who is new from this point on out.

Here is an explanation from Patreon's help page on this:

New Patrons:  New Patrons will be charged on the day they become your patron, giving  them access to all content shared with their reward tier. On the 1st of  the following month, they will simply ...

Home from Panthea Con

It was great being in California again—a state I have serious love for—and seeing familiar faces and a few friends. The constant rain from the Pineapple Express that decided to hit while we were there did suck, and flooding was a concern, but thankfully nothing major happened. The downside of it all was that we didn't get to visit my beloved redwoods, or go to the beach this time. Massive bummer :< But otherwise the con was pretty good, and it is always so wonderful to be around fellow "E...

Pantheacon!

Well we made it in to San Jose yesterday and are all set up at the Double Tree for Pantheacon! We always love coming to this show each year and seeing all the familiar faces. Since we reached this goal I will now begin posting an occasional tutorial on my techniques, or useful tips for drawing/painting to my feed. This reward is only for tribe members ($...

Moonlight

So here is the finished, scanned piece I've titled "Moonlight". I put several watermarks on my finished, scanned works for various reasons, but mainly to deter thieves. Since most of my products are prints of my art that do not have watermarks on them, I also use it as a selling point. Just in case you all wondered :)

For the love of friends <3

So Sandra and I just got back from yet another awesome Colorado Indian Market. As usual we were bombarded by friends, fans (and fans who have become friends), and family, plus all the natives, hippies, pagans, new-agers, furries, freaks, geeks, wierdos, and the incredibly diverse ethnic crowd that we consider our people. They come to Indian Market in droves.

We are always shown such amazing love and generosity that we don't experience at every show, which makes Indian Market always our best sh...

Ooops! About the Giveaways...

So it was brought to my attention that Patreon does not allow raffles, giveaways, drawings, or any sort of "games of chance" at all. I was under the impression that you could do this, but in reading the T&Cs it appears that it is not the case. So I have removed all mention of a giveaway on my Patreon.

However, I would still like to do a giveaway, since I like the idea of doing a sketch or other piece each month and sending it to some lucky person. I just have to figure out how to do ...
