Like I mentioned in the last update I have gotten a bit sick. This week has been pretty rough and I have spent most of it in bed, as a result I haven't been able to do much in terms of work.

First of all sorry the update is a little late, as mentioned in the last update I was busy working at an expo all weekend - which was really fun by the way despite the fact that I have now gotten sick as a result xP
Last week my plan was to redo the parts of the tutorial that had to do with the movement system now that a new one has been implemented, and release a new patreon devbuild. I managed to get both of those things done in a bit of a rush before Thursday when I left for the expo.

Like I somewhat touched on in the weekend update I was planning to get a new devbuild out tomorrow, the reason for that (rather than doing a weekend release) is because I will be away on a job this weekend. Since I actually have to leave tomorrow in order to be able to be at work Friday morning I don't know how long I will be home tomorrow, and thus I have decided to rush the devbuild ever so slightly.

Last week my plan was to remove the old movement system in favor on the new one, change the map to fit with the new system, and keep writing for Eva.

Last week my plan was to implement the "buying the hyperdrive" scene, and keep writing scenes for Eva.
The hyperdrive scenes have been implemented, and I have written one set of scenes for Eva, the "Very Low Familiarity" phone call and date scenes. Turns out its a bit of a challenge to write scenes for Eva and not make things get too steamy too quickly given that she is an old friend of our main character right from the start, but I think I'm doing an okay job with it so far.

The plan last week was to finish up the last pawnshop favor, remove the health system, and start writing for Eva.
The final favor has been written, now all that remains is to write the scene where the hyperdrive actually gets purchased. The health system has been removed. And I have started adding Eva to the game.

The plan last week was to keep refining the movement system, write another scene for the main quest, and maybe work a little on the hunger/health systems.
The new movement system is now up and working as intended, it has been redesigned to work more like that of Episode 1 where you can open a map screen and select your destination rather than having to click to move through mostly empty streets in order to get to where you actually want to be.

Last week my plan was to write the next stage of the main questline, make the bar, and hopefully start working on Eva.
Since I also did a public alpha release this week I chose not to start work on Eva yet but focus on minor bugfixes, taking feedback, and planning ahead instead.
And I'm very glad I did - I have decided to change up the movement system for the next Patreon devbuild to see if I can make it more streamlined. I also wanna have a serious look at maybe removing hunger and heal...

With the latest devbuild a "Tentacle Farm" has been added to the game as a new place where the main character can go to work.
Finding the farm itself is a bit of a special event, and thus there is a list of requirements that need to be met in order to trigger the scene that lets you find it. The list is as follows:
- You need to have an arousal value of 50 or more (AP)
- The time of day needs to be morning

Last week my plan was to write the next stage of the main questline, and to add a new job to the game.
I ended up writing quite a bit more than one stage of the main questline as the first two intended stages (meeting the trader and doing the first favor) sort of naturally combined into one long scene, and the next two favors ended up being very simmilar as well - leading to a total of four stages of the questline being written as opposed to the single one that was planned.

Due to the need for a lot of different characters to take part in each of the multi-character scenes in Occupational Hazards. I will throughout the production of the game try to fix deals with some of the artists to make participation in scenes a YCH type thing to give as many people as possible the possibility of getting their characters in the game.

Options is a good thing.
During the course of the game Samantha will meet and have the option to become friends and eventually partners with several characters. Most of these will be encountered later in the game (not on the planet the game starts on) but I want 2-3 of them to be available on planet one.
Rather than giving the relationship characters names I will in this contex call them by their roles - for reference: Carver is the "Dominant Boyfriend" character.

As I mentioned in the weekend update I have started writing the start of the main questline. In regards to that I would like to open for some suggestions.
The first character we will encounter in the main quest is a salesman/trader, and not really an honest one. In a recent update Patreon has now made it possible for all creators to set their pages to "charge up front". What that means is that any new patrons will be charged for the current month the moment they join, and then the 1st of each following month as usual.
Personally I am a fan of the "charge up front" system, and I will therefore set my page to use it starting from next weekend (14th of July) Existing patrons should not be in any way affected by this change but I figured I should let ever...

The goal for this week was to rework the UI layout to make it more comfortable and intuitive to use. I'm happy to say that I have managed to put together a layout that I feel is a hell of a lot better than what I originally had.
I also re-wrote large parts of the tutorial to make it a little bit more streamlined, and to make it work with the new UI.

This past week I have been mainly focused on taking feedback from the public alpha, and planning ahead. The conclusion I have reached so far is that Reworking the UI seems to be a pretty good idea, and that reworking the movement system might also be desirable.
With that in mind I'm going to spend the coming week working on UI changes, the idea is to make it more elegant and less cluttered.
