Not too much comment on this one... I found a gorgeous photo of Dawki Lake and I added Lang and Honglin into the image. I really love how the lake is so clear that you can barely see the start of the surface, so when boats/people are on it, they look like they're floating. It's a nice idea to have in your mental library.

As for Chapter 6 of Langwen starting next week, I'm going to be updating 2 "pages" every so often in order to try to get 2 chapters every month! :...

Langwen Comic Style: Final Decision

So... I've more or less come to a decision. It's a surprising decision , and I feel I need to explain my thinking before I tell you what it is.

I want to preface by saying thank you, again, for all of your detailed replies. Even though my decision may not align with what many of you said you'd prefer, every single comment genuinely did help guide my own thoughts to their current conclusion. I'm really grateful for such a responsive community. You've made me seriously evaluate what it is...

A side by side/follow up

Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment. I can't believe how thoughtful and detailed ALL of your replies are, I mean I love you guys already but I almost - AMOST... not quite - teared up. I honestly would have been ok if you all said "yes we would in fact prefer the older style", but this validation also really, really helped. 

Some of you do prefer the older style though, so I will still need to think about it. A part of me can't seem to let go either. But I'm still try...

A little bit of insecurity

Ok, a little personal post, where I'd like to request your opinions. This has been bothering me on and off for a while, and I would like to know your thoughts, if you have any.

So I'm not infallible to other people's opinions about my art. Most times I value my own opinion most, but there are times I care about other people's more. I'm not of the "screw what other people think!" belief because sometimes, other people can be right and I don't want to wall myself off from alternative pers...

It's really funny/annoying, I write a few lines of dialogue in my script, thinking it'll take oh maybe just five panels, and next thing I know I need to split a chapter into two chapters T_T I wonder what it would be like to work under an editor...

I cringed drawing this Chang guy. I know he isn't exactly the most physically ugly person ever drawn, but he is very, very ugly to me. I really hate those wispy whiskers. And those two long "sideburn" hair locks that are long enough to be put into his bun. And his off-white robe. Like this guy is trying way too hard to look like a scholar and failing spectacularly

Depending on the style I use, my organization of my psd files vary quite a bit. It's been a while since I've drawn in this style, but it's the easiest style for me, involving minimal line art/colour layers, but LOTS of effects layers (colour dodge, burn, overlays, etc). I spend more time figuring out just the right effect than I do actually drawing, which is why I use this style very rarely. It's quick but not... as fun.

Hello!! Another surprise post!!
