Sketch - The Asylum's stocking

A small piece I made just so as to make it through the small art slow phase that's going on.

The reason is, I've focused a bit on my writing the past couple of weeks, so I haven't made that much progress. It also happens that, I still don't feel myself that good at making art. 

Do you think people would be more interested in my patreon if I started posting exclusive chapters of a light novel i intend to write?

Sketch - night stalker

This is a sketch to practice colors in dark environments. I'm unsure of the results.

The design of the character is inspired by a character in Kemono Jihen.

I wonder if I should just start numbering my 'sketches' just to not bother with writing

Creature at the Gym

It's been a hellish week and practically creatively dead recovering from Covid. So I've been managing by just making random arts and pieces here and there. So don't expect for there to be a particular story for this one or the one that comes next (unless stated).

A reptile like multi-armed humanoid creature is finishing her session at the gym. Yeah, she's topless as the having more sports bra on a being with multiple limbs is quite a challenge.

This is a page from my sketch files. I was hoping to work on more building around the asylum concept, but I never really find the will to move on with it.

A small image I sketched whilst wanting to practice coloring. I'm still unsure of the technique I have, maybe try to tone down the lights and just keep the shadows for a good effect.

Sketch - Dancer

I watch anime on regular basis regular basis, and one of the hidden gems of the last season was Uma Musume, second season. Whereas the first was decent, the second was actually better. And It reaffirmed the idea that this show has a lot more effort put to it than one would expect.

And I love it as a nice surprise.

What I particularly like is the character designs the dresses many of the characters have and the styles. I'm not a fashion designer but I can really appreciate the effort that goes into having characters wear more than a plain shirt, pants, shorts or jacket. This is my attempt on going for a bit more of the special look.

Harbormaster - Testing up the new net

I don't know if i'm making this canon or not. It certainly doesn't feel official until there is a fully fleshed out story but it was quite fun to draw.

Also, a reminder that i need to expand my brush library, get some manga style shaders.

I originally began by writing the dialogue and outline of how the story and setting would go. But it was so long ago that, when I reread the script and began drawing, it was easy to drift away, stretching things and having to tweak parts to make more sense. 

That was the first time I tried making the script for a comic, not that good at it, yet...

Welp, I kinda suck at coloring, and now that I see this I realize there are some things I could've tweaked, such as the eyes and the pose. But it's a bit too late for now.

Yes, this is a practice using Rixa from the Harbourmaster Viginettes i've been doing, but this is obviously non canon to the story. But these aren't her official colors, I kinda have a hard time deciding what tones look best on characters >>

I can't help but feel that either my skills have diminished or that, at least the context is much more complicated to draw. This comes after i began posting the "harbormaster at the bar" pages in DA and FA.

Hm, I feel myself too unsure of my work. Drawing proper comics is kinda tricky, specially with backgrounds and so. And I know that this piece isn't going to be exactly anatomically correct... so I'm not putting that much focus on the environment.

I can only chalk it to a mixture of being unfamiliar with animal physiology, complex backgrounds I can't draw, as well as making B&W fur and not practicing the images well enough >>

Despite all my time. I rarely have practice drawing animals. And rottweilers are surprisingly difficult to make good. I wonder if it would've turned out different if i were drawing on paper rather than on the tablet.

Well, this is a blast from the past. I think it was before I got my new tablet when began to make plans for this small short story. But lack of confidence on my skills moved pushed  this to the side. Afterall, not only is this a drawing taking place in a complex environment, but it also deals with a lot of animal anatomy. So, forget the scrappiness of the piece.

I had managed to push through the first page before I put it into the backburner.

This was a piece of me trying to practice drawing, posing and try out a slightly different shading. I still want to work in black and whites, like mangas do, but I'm not that good when it comes to coloring.

It's been a while since I did the small addition to the harbormaster mini series. And I seem to get in the mood of this whenever I post the pictures from here back into my DA page.

I'm kinda making this on the go, so I'm not really sure where I want to take it. It does bother me somewhat to keep these pieces short, but they aren't exactly super popular, so I can't really linger much on some works.

Also, you might notice this one is a bit more detailed and planned out than the other. I still don't know if i'll have it colored or even how.
