changes to donation tiers

I want to make some changed to the donation tiers to reflect heather. Right now they all named after dragon knight themes. I will think of something more neutral and add some basic perks.  

e-book formats?

I wanted to make the e-book format a reward for the $3 and higher donation tier. However, in testing this is proving to be problematic. Any format I use doesn't seem to work in all e-book readers. The office program I use has limited tools for making e-books and no way to create a cover.

This has forced me to pass the file through several editors in order to achieve a final result. Unless I can find a simpler way to do this I am going to give up on e-book formats.

HTN 1-15 Such a deal

Heather and Frank followed the pair into a town that looked like it had been bombed. There were two dozen buildings all in a medieval-style lined up along winding streets. There were equally as many burned husks of buildings along the outer edge.

HTN 1-11 Epub format test

I want to test putting up a chapter in the E-reader format for those of you who have such devices. Since Heather's chapters are so small it only makes sense to practice with hers.  So here is a downloadable file to try.

3-21 Innocent lies

Gersius watched as Lilly led her first morning prayer session with the new acolytes of Balisha. She introduced them to Balisha's song by singing in her beautiful clear voice. Chapter 21 and other updates.

Chapter 21 is on track for a Friday release. I am trying to organize myself so that I release a chapter on Tuesday and Friday.  I want to treat this as a professional job even if it isn't, and to do that I need to release on a schedule.

Gersius stood on a hill outside the estate and took a deep breath. The news at the temple of Ulustrah caused an immediate change. Thayle wasted no time in ordering every man and woman present to be at the estate in the morning. Many grumbled and complained, but Thayle left them no choice. When I started this journey to write my story I had plans. I was going to write the most amazing story and an agent was going to snap it up and lead me on a wild ride of book signings and panel discussions at conventions.

Needless to say that didn't happen. A hundred query letters later and I was still agent less.

Welcome back to 10k Chapters.

This is what having lots of time on my hands allows. I suppose some day I may reach enough on Patreon where I can make 10,000 word chapters common again.

I would love to release two chapters of this size a week. I kinda hate making the smaller chapters, I never feel like I have enough space to say all I want to say.

Chapter 19 coming soon!

Chapter 19 is written and through my rough first edit. This is taking longer because I decided to go ahead and make it a big chapter. It's pushing 9.5k words right now. Since my schedule was so busy I cut chapters down to 3-5k words. Now that I have more time I am going to return to the larger chapters, at least until I find another job.

If I had my way, I would do two 10k chapters a week. I think that is an excellent rate for a web serial, and a rate I am more than capable of maintai...

Sorry chapter 18 took longer than I expected. I was fighting with a belief that i think is incorrect.

 There is this part of me that says something big and traumatic must happen in every chapter or the reader will get bored. But I suspect most of you like the characters because they have these moments. Moments of doubts, fears, and strong emotion that make them human. 

If the story is nothing but action and high tension I feel like you can get exhausted from reading it. ...

I am unemployed! yay? Anyway, I suddenly have more time to write so I am going to do so. Expect chapters 16 and 17 soon.  I am also cleaning up book 2 chapter by chapter and working on finding some help to edit book 1 so I can move toward an amazon self publish.

It's been a strange year for me but I am upbeat and happy. I love writing and the more time I have for it the better!

It was well into the late hours of the night as Lilly sat on the rug in the middle of the room. All around her was stillness and silence except for the faint breathing of her lovers. After their prayers, they spent the night making love and then curled into each other to sleep. Lilly laid with them for an hour but got back up to pray again. She felt a deep need to reach out to Balisha as if the Goddess herself was calling her.

Quick update

Chapter 15 is written, I just want to take one more day to work over it and iron out some issues. I have discovered I overuse worlds like "just, had, really, like, certainly, and however."  I am taking steps to flush these unneeded words from my writing.  They do belong in some instances, but I have a tendency to use them over and over.

 I have also been working my way through book 2 rewriting chapters and fixing the mountains of errors. I want to say thank you...

3-14 Simple Beginings

Lilly, carried Gersius, Thayle, and High Priest Lengwin through the skies. They spent the day traveling to many of the small towns and villages that surrounded the city of Avashire. Most of them received word of the dragon knights and their dragon, and people were watching the skies. They made sure to land away from people so they could dismount and approach the towns cautiously.
