Cut-Stone Arrow Slit & Low

Here we have the last stuff that needed to get done to complete cut-stone walls and corners.  The corner arrow slit was missing, but the low stuff needed some reworking too because it was following an older approach that I think results in poorer prints.

Next up will be the vote for next month.  Now that cut-stone walls and corners are fully complete, we'll be jumping to a new set!

Poll: SD Cards of the OpenForge collection

So lots of people find downloading all of Openforge to be a bit of a task, and it's not surprising.  It's over 100 gigs and spread in multiple places (though it is all in Dropbox).  One of our patrons suggested a yearly SD card could be mailed out with everything.  At present, OpenForge is ~114 gigs, so we would need a 128 gig sd card, which after shipping would cost about $20 per card (and obviously this price goes up and down, with a long term trend towards down).  If we...

Cut-Stone Corner Segment update

I forgot with the cut-stone releases that I had done an update to the corner segments for this.  The pillar, and right and left panels that you can mix and match with other corner options.

This is a small update, so it's not a charged release.

October 2022 Voting

You know the drill.  It should be one more month to finish out Cut-Stone Walls and Corners.  This unlocked a bunch of other cut-stone stuff.  Voting closes next sunday.

Cut-Stone Grates

We've been doing a *lot* of Dungeon Stone lately.  Well, we finished out that set, and we're starting on cut-stone walls and corners.  This is our first release for finishing out this set: Cut-stone grates.

We've got 2x2, 3x3 & 4x2 walls, and 2x2 corners.  All grates can be swapped out with a jail door.  The grates have split files for printing them with fdm, but the doors really need to be done on resin, just too tiny and the detail is too difficult with FDM. View Post

Tile Voting September 2022

Next set is Cut Stone - Wall on Tile - Walls and Corners.  So we are now voting for the set after that.

Voting closes 9/8

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Niche

Last set of files, and this closes out Dungeon Stone Separate Primary Walls.  This means next month we'll be switching to a new set!

Now that this set is done, I'll get all of dungeon stone primary walls uploaded into a big set on MMF.  Expect to see that some time in September.

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Secret Doors

Next up, we have the rework of Secret Doors (and Low Wall Secret Doors).  There's three versions of these, without magnets, Imperial magnets and Metric magnets.

For Imperial magnets, you will need 1/8"x 3/32".  For metric, it is 5mm x 3mm.  I strongly suggest using magnets, as it helps make the illus...

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Portcullis

This one was an update to get the new floor texture and the new approach to bases.  I also added D (3x wide) walls.

Also, tell me what you think of the new colorized images.  Learned how to use vertex painting!

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Square Windows

First time ever, we have the square window separate walls for dungeon stone.  As a side note with this month's releases, I've added dragonlock bays on the side for one variation, and I've stopped publishing infinitylock single piece prints (but there are still openforge infinitylock side locks and infinitylock bases).

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Grates

First part of this is an update to meet the new Dungeon Stone Separate Wall standards.  Second part of this is that we've added D (3x wide) walls, as well as the new block floor texture.

July 2022 Voting

This should be the last full month of Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Primary.  Next month I'll start on filling out the next set.  At present, "Cut Stone: Wall on Tile Walls and Corners" is ahead with 16 votes, next closest is "Dungeon Stone: Misc (Pillars/Pools/Boss Doors/Foundations/Etc)" at 12.  This vote will be the final one before I start on the next set, so we'll know what the next set is by the end of the week.  Voting closes next friday.

Surprise Release: Misc Updates

It's been bothering me that the block texture is not fully spread through the whole dungeon stone set, so I decided to make a bunch of smaller updates (and it triggered one for rough stone as well). In this release we have:

  • Rectangular doors with block texture floors - dungeon stone
  • Fountain with block texture floors - dungeon stone
  • Fountain with rough floors - rough stone
  • Grates with block texture floors - dungeon stone
  • Portcullis with block te...

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Arrow Slits

Working on the full Dungeon Stone Separate Wall set, and because I decided to do a new set of bases, even walls that had been done have to be redone.  Here we get Arrow Slits, adding in a bunch of new variations, and adding the 3x wide D wall.

June 2022 Voting

  • Current Set: Dungeon Stone Primary Separate Walls
  • Expected Finish: (7 parts) July/August
  • Current Leader For Next Set: Cut Stone Wall on Tile Walls and Corners

We are now fully onto the new simplified voting.  I made a couple changes since last month, merging everything into page one. Voting closes next monday.

I'll continue to try and go back and forth between updating previously released walls and entirely new ones.  We have 4 that need to ...

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Primary Torch

As I mentioned in the arched door release, while I finish out the reworking of dungeon stone separate wall primary walls, I'm going to try to make sure I do some completely new walls, and some updates.  This is the completely new set, torch walls.  You can find all the instructions for doing these torches here.

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Arched Doors

Since I have to redo some existing tiles, I'm trying to go back and forth between new and update.  In this case it's the update, but there's still some new here.  For one thing, we now have D (3x) wide doors.  Further, this set has both the older style eroded floors, and the new block style floors.  All of the doors have also been tested, so I'm reasonably confident that the doors are the right size ;-).

Also, as a note, I used this as an opportunity to update the w...

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Reboot

A long time ago, before, well, we all learned a lot, there was a vote to go with just a plain block for the bottom of dungeon stone separate wall bases.  Well, now that these things are being used to make buildings and multi-story structures, this just really, doesn't work.  Since the vote on moving to doing full sets at once was *cough* overwhelming (55 to 0), the next set to tackle is dungeon stone separate wall.  I decided rather than follow the old, less useful pattern, tha...

May Vote, New approach

I've long been worried that the vote, while comprehensive, is super overwhelming. 30ish people vote each month despite the patreon continuing to grow.  So I decided to take a stab at dramatically simplifying the vote.

First, we have the old style vote for may here.  This is extremely comprehensive, letting you vote on each individual tile.

Second, we have a new, 2022-05-03 19:49:28 +0000 UTC View Post

General Dungeon Stone update

With the releases today, we've completed every tile for Dungeon Stone Wall on Tile floors, walls and corners.  This means that I've also moved all of those out of OpenForge.Rename into OpenForge, and I'm uploading a new dungeon stone wall on tile zip (this takes a while, so it will be available later today.  One last set of tasks needs to happen, which is rolling the new block floor texture into some files that incorporate floors into the wall (such as doors, and the fountain). &nbs...

Dungeon Stone Corner Torches

Final release for today, we close out all Dungeon Stone wall on tile Walls and Corners with the torch corner. Same deal as the other releases today.  You can mix and match with any other corner segments, and can use the eroded and block textures.

For full instructions, see the torch wall post.

Dungeon Stone Corner Niche

The niche gets the corner treatment as well.  Like the drain, this is a staple of the old school CRPGs, and many a D&D dungeon.  Like with the drain, the corner pieces can be mixed and matched with any others to create unique corner pieces.  Here we see the niche on both sides, and the right and left, along with the eroded and block floor textures.

I've included an update to the wall niche pieces as well, because the floor for niches needs to have a carve out, so I've...
