Updated "EmTXT" OBS Streaming Companion

i updated my application to use nonspecific entry fields for you to do whatever with, an "other" option under the hardware field so it can also be used for whatever (or other hardware that isn't on the list) and a countdown timer, which may or may not always work properly.

it dumps all the stuff to files in the "text" folder. just don't put it in Program Files or it won't be able to write the files properly.

at this point i'm pretty happy with it and would consider it a useful too...

stream setup is mostly done!

i'm absurdly happy with how this all came together. it took a while to get things sorted, especially a macro input method that i was really able to work quickly with, but i was able to find something in the form of my M-Audio Keystation Mini 32:

there's still some pretty hacky stuff going on insofar as how it plays back the sound queues, but it works well enough! i'm excited to get some streams...

update on streams and whatever the hell else

i mentioned the goal was to stream weekly, so i guess that's a thing i'll be doing here: https://www.twitch.tv/msx2plus - it'll kind of be "whenever" each week and i'll usually give 30 mins to an hour notice on here and on the discord, as well as my twitter most times, as i figure why not just do them publicly. i don't want patreon people to feel like they aren't getting the Super Secret Streams they might want, but thanks...

setting some goals

this year i would like to:

- put out one piece of physical media each month

- stream every week (publicly? it is a mystery)

hey all - i spent the last week really digging deep into OBS and learning how awesome a creative tool it is. i put together a selection of layouts, transitions, chat styling, etc for future streams!

on that note, really i've just been wanting to do more of them finally! not necessarily always work, but at least a way to keep in touch and chat with yall

thanks for chiming in, i'm glad to hear it might seem interesting to yall

as for stream scheduling, it's a little tough for me as i prefer to be active in the evening or night lately, and because my sleep schedule isn't exactly 24 hours, so i drift a lot. because of this, the best thing i can do is post a notice a couple hours before i go live with one.

"retrospective" or "commentary" streams/Q&A?

hey all, had a bit of an idea for a kind of stream i might be able to do during the creative slump.

was thinking that in each stream we could go over a couple of old releases (i'll be picking 'em out) and do commentary and Q&A regarding it. i figure as we come up to it being 10 years since the launch of the 'lapfox' name it would be interesting to revisit some older work and talk a little about the process, how i feel about it today, what my goal was then, etc.
