21 MONSTERS
Added 2021-07-05 14:16:45 +0000 UTCI've been digging in the old forbidden vaults (external drive I use for archiving old stuff) and found this little 12 page zine I made around 2005 with my little sister. I was 14, she was 5, and she helped draw and color things.
This lil comic about a hero mercilessly killing servant monsters in a monster girl's mansion is HIGHLY derivative of an old comic by Jordan Piantedosi. She used to run a webcomic called Perfect Stars and I was absolutely obsessed with it, nearly painted a mural of a particularly strikin comic panel on my bedroom wall before my parents said I can't. http://jordanpiantedosiart.com/more-comics You can find her "21 monsters" around the halfway point of this long long archive page of older comics. I still adore her art and it's easy to see the influences still in my stuff.
Me and my sister never finished this comic as the 12 page stapled zine ran out of room and we lost interest. It's cool to see how even back then I was doing my lettering in the same ways, how I found all this cute senseless violence fun to draw, and how I was so considerate of my sister who couldn't read yet that i only used the shortest possible writing needed to explain the narrative.
