It’s my party.

Actually it was my party. On Saturday. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! I need to go through all my messages soon.

So I think I’m finally getting back to a more normal space in life. Things are slowing down and I couldn’t be any happier about that. I’m finally able to have a routine and I am beginning the process of catching up on… everything.

I’ve been enjoying the slower pace so much that for my birthday I literally wanted nothing more tha...

Frida Kahlo Museo

Yesterday we went to visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, which was formerly hers and her husband’s, (Diego Rivera), house. Her family lost the home when she was younger and Diego bought it back as a wedding gift to her.

I never knew much about Frida, only that there were famous paintings and photos of her and I don’t think I even knew she was the artist until recently.

Procrastination

I had this drafted to share a little while back, but the app won’t let me schedule and I forgot to come back to it and hit post. So here’s a little something not trip related. ❤️

This honestly made me feel so much better about how I procrastinate the most when I’m the most stressed. It is still a habit I am working on breaking, but after watching this video it made more sense why we do it and also helped me be more compassionate with myself.

HOLA! DE MEXICO!

Jeebus....

I can’t even begin to tell you all of the emotions I’ve felt being in Mexico. It’s been amazing to see more of my heritage even during this crazy busy schedule. We took a red eye to Brazil last night and are here for 3 days.

I barely slept on the 11 hour flight (was supposed to be 9.5, but we had a 1.5 hour delay) so I am ready for some snoozing action! While I wait for my sleepy time pill to kick in, I’m gonna post a few things.

The Real Reasons I’ve Been Absent

This video will explain pretty much everything. I left out a lot of small stuff, but these are the major things that have been going on.

That being said, I’m gonna get to posting some happy stuff here today!

We need to talk

I’m not even gonna bs here. I have slacked off real bad and yes, I have excuses, but none of that matters. I have honestly not upheld my end of the deal here and I am very very sorry about that. This of you who are patrons to JD know a little more, but I’ll fill you in still.

I’m going to post a video about a lot of what has been going on behind the scenes, but if for any reason anyone would like their money back, please just send a message and let me know.

Work work work work work

My goodness, friends!!! Work was crazy slow for a while there and now it’s been slammed. I had planned to get my Patreon revamp in full swing by now, but I’ve been booked almost every, single day. I didn’t notice until today how much it’s affecting me. When you get to a point of jumbling several sentence ma throughout the day, you know you need a break.

I’m currently in LA for a big commercial shoot and heading home to Vegas tomorrow. Then I can really start focusing on everyt...

Flashback Friday - Passion for Pinup

I won't claim to be the most knowledgeable gal on pinup, but man...it sure is one of my favorite things to shoot. Aside from it being such a timeless look, I love how versatile the style is and how it can work on so many different body types. The amount of effort that went into the hair and wardrobe back in the day just blows my mind. This hairstyle alone took about 2.5 hours (though I was able to keep it for a few days!).

This lingerie set- bra and undies- was bought on clearance...

Sleep Hypnosis for Anxiety Reduction & Reversal

Check this out if you're looking for some anxiety relief!

Last month the feelings of anxiety were pretty damn heavy, but I've been trying some new things and I feel like this hypnosis video has been helping quite a bit. I listen to it when I go to sleep and I think it helps me fall asleep faster some nights too.

Womancrush Wednesday

Krissy Mae has been one of the only women in fitness who has been able to inspire me in all aspects of life. Her story of recovery is incredible and I have really enjoyed how open she has been in sharing her struggles. The amount charitable work she does never ceases to amaze me. It's been around 7-8 years now that I've been following her and not once have I thought to unfollow. Her views on nutrition, mental health, and fitness have helped me mature my approach on each subject.

My Favorite News

I think a lot of us are super sick of the news. I know I am. But I do like to stay up to date and Philip DeFranco has become the only news source I can consistently watch/listen to without feeling like I want to throw things. He does very thorough research and in the event he ever gets something wrong, he is quick to address and correct it. I know this won't be everyone's jam, but in light of trying to make this platform as helpful as possible, I wanted to share something that has helped me a...

Gooood Morning!

There truly are so many reasons to be happy. Amidst the chaos and terrible news we hear each day, I find it more important than ever to think about the things that make me happy. My top three reasons to be happy:

1. I've evolved and grown into more than I ever thought possible due to how I was raised.

2. The people surrounding me inspire me every day.

3. I live in an amazing country where anything is possible.

You don't have to share your reasons, but you know I'm alwa...

Flashback Fridsy

During my social media break, I’ve been organizing old files and came across this! 😱 My, oh my, how times have changed. Even in the last 4 years the changes kind of blow my mind.

This photo was taken so I could have promo material while I was a feature entertainer a little over 4 years ago. That stunt was very short lived, which in the long haul was great, but at the time it really broke my heart. I had wanted to feature for several years and after doing makeup for another feature...

Mean Green Machine

Okay. I’m neither mean nor machine, but the title works for this INCREDIBLE dress. 😉

This dress was found at Buffalo Exchange in Albuquerque for $20 and I couldn’t believe when I looked at the tag that it is Diane von Furstenberg. Most of her dresses similar to this design go for $300-$400. I couldn’t find any sort of damages, so snagged it!

Good Morning! - Food for Thought

I’ve been a roll with listening to TED talks while doing my makeup and found this one pretty cool this morning. Even though it’s stuff I personally have learned about, I like the way he puts things.

I’m going to starts sharing little helpful bits each day once I get Patreon switched over fully to where it’s heading.

I know it’s not always easy to sit and watch these, am I listen as I get ready for the day. Perhaps that works for you too.

Never Enough Color

And I’m bringing even more next year! I’ll be doing more fashion type blogs like this here on Patreon starting in 2019.

I’ve been wanting to post more blog type content, but am not fond of the idea of starting a traditional blog as blogging has stalled out the last couple of years and isn’t really a growing market. I’m trying to be more efficient with my energy and time, so I feel like I can utilize Patreon more as my “blog” landing page. I likely will keep the fashion st...

Merry Holiday Season!

Because Christmas is over meow, but New Year’s is coming quick!

I really wanted to get some cards sent out to all of you, but this December got out of control a bit with having decided to go back to Amarillo for Christmas. I’m really glad we went even though it wasn’t exactly the most relaxing time. When we spend it with JD’s family its always more laidback and I love that. Even with the busy days, it was great to see so many friends and family.

NEW TATTOO!!!

My girl Amanda and I are getting matching tattoos tonight! Her girlfriend, Lynsey, just finished sketching this up for us. This is going to be my first tattoo by Lynsey AND my first friend tattoo.

Amanda’s last name is Taylor, so “Amanda T.” got changed to Manatee at some point and I’ve always called her that since we met about 9 years ago. When we were trying to decide which tattoos to get, JD suggested doing manatees and I was like YES! Manatees have been one of my favorite an...

Today I’ll start planning out how Patreon will be revamped in the new year. This is probably the most excited I’ve ever been about ideas for making this platform bette...

Hello From Nassau!

My goodness. This cruise has been off to quite the start. The first day (Monday) was jam-packed full of stuff and then I got food poisoning that night. So I spent all day yesterday in bed and still today am not quite at 100%. My stomach is pretty tender still, but I was at least able to get off the ship and walk around Nassau a bit. We were supposed to be in Cococay today, but the weather made it unsafe to get to the island so we have two days in Nassau instead. Tomorrow I may venture into Atlan...
