I reimagined one of my earlier drawings through an AI-assisted cinematic lens. The composition and emotion remain mine — I guided the AI to explore deeper light and texture. It’s the very first time after her lost her legs, Carmen is sitting in front of a camera. She is not hundred percent sure what it will be turned out, but she wanted to try and see herself as a new body image. Working in progress.

Carmen in Her Bed

I have been doing traditional watercolor painting for decades, and always wanted to apply traditional medium to my amputee and devotee art. I miss the feeling of how the water and the medium reacted each other on paper, dry or wet. Thanks Procreate the new watercolor brushes! They are worked so well that allows me to achieve the effects just like the physical ones. I will do more and experiment more with this method. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think.

Work in progress. Carmen rolling around in hospital corridor before her surgeon came to evaluate her condition. She is hoping to be discharged next day. She wants to leave the hospital as soon as possible. She wants to see her physical therapist and prosthetist as soon as she can.

She was thinking about what the doctor had said. She will get her prosthetic legs fitted and she will be able to walk or even running. ‘But what about sex? Will my amputated legs will turn down the guys I want to have good time with? What their reactions would be if I be with them and they find out that I have fake legs?’ . She closes her eyes, trying to imagine the scenarios, then fall asleep.

Working in progress. Carmen is tired. A lot of things came up to her mind. She is eager to leave the hospital as soon as she can. She wanted to get her life back. She is missing her family and friend. Eventually she falling in sleep.

Completed. She is still in pain and weak, but much better than the surgery before. She started to think about what her life would be without legs. She saw different people with missing legs or arms on the street in her life. How would my life would be? Then on the next day the surgeon visited her.

A Week Time Off

I just wanted to let you know I’ll be taking a short vacation this week from August 12 to August 19th.
