On tumblr, I saw that someone made their own MerMay challenge but based on the zora of the Legend of Zelda franchise. We've been getting hit with thunderstorms and tornado warnings in our neck of the woods, if anyone lives in tornado alley you all stay safe <3 Due to the rain, we also found a leak in the guest room down in our basement level so that's been a little stressful but we hope we can get it fixed soon with some help.

FFVII - Women who Tango

This was inspired by a set of vintage postcards by Suzanne Meunier. I used a couple of poses for refs. This idea came from talking about how Diana would bond with Tifa and Aerith as she traveled with them. FFVII - Midgar Influences

Here is another part of Diana's story. After her mother, Terra dies, Dane takes her back to Midgar. There are details I'd like to iron out because this part is where I've only spit-balled ideas. But after Dane left Mideel he eventually married. His wife is named Edda and the two have a son named Reno >> (He and Diana as siblings was another story I kept from my kid plots.)

DBZ - A couple of saiyans

This was done after my saiyan day piece. I wanted to draw some characters in dynamic poses and chose Bardock and Sarazade because I love them so ;u; Both are based on pose refs from Masters of Anatomy and Mellon_Soup! The bottom left piece was a post it note to fill in the negative space but for some reason the scanner took out all the color!

FFVII - A President and his Dog, and a young fencer

FFVII - Turks and a One Winged Angel

Both pages were practice on drawing characters in the game I don't normally tackle. I'm really pleased with all of them. The Turks are great and they were especially fun in Rebirth; boss fights and snarky banter that kept me grinning and yelling for my life XD

FFVII - Past and Future

Back in 2020 I did some designs for Diana's parents and wrote out a story how they met. Her dad, Dane, was a Shinra grunt who met Terra in Mideel when a science group was doing a survey on Mako levels. Their romance was sweet but it was brief since he had to go back to Midgar. They meet again, this time with a small Diana in tow. Terra ends up getting killed thanks to Shinra doing it's usual evil scientist things, and Dane takes her back to Midgar.

FFVII - Beachwear and Regrets

FFVII - the last pages of my sketchbook

As the title says! There's something about the last pages of a book where I have trouble filling them up. It's similar to the first page anxiety where you feel like you have to end on a big finale. But its okay to just end with simple sketches!

These were warm ups to get a feel for drawing the characters again. Barret was my favorite one to tackle but I don't think I did his features justice. I've never been confident drawing facial hair. I used references for Tifa and while the bottom one looks a bit wonky to me it was fun to try out such dynamic poses!
