Sword Slime sketches

Since October also always feels like a good time to post OC content and having just finished this comic, I figure it might be interesting to share some of the sketches that went into development / just more images of the characters in general.  These weren't scanned in chronological order, but all at once when I was putting the comic together, so it spans some extent of time. I'll point out details in the comments of the image.

Darstalkers sketches

This is a small post, but something Darkstalkers related as I get the other things ready!

One of the Hsien-ko sketches I posted in the last batch were part of a series I want to try to make into sticker designs eventually. I'll try to do all of the characters, but I figure I could show the sketches for now.

Hsien-ko / Lei-lei wins the poll!

Hsien-ko / Lei-lei wins this year's Darkstalkers poll! She was tied with Morrigan and B.B. Hood last time, but this time gained a solid lead!

I'll start sketching the one for this illustration this week. In the meantime,  here are some previous Hsien-ko pics I did. Plus bonus Lady Raptor/ Zabelle, Q Bee, and Filia dressed as Lei-lei (Filileilei?)

October Patreon Illustration Poll!

I was originally going to do a similar approach to the past recent polls, but I can't resist October haha, so this month is pretty straightforward- any of the main characters from the Darkstalkers series! 

Sword Slime character drawings

Here's some of the preparation sketches I had on hand for the comic and/or designs for the setting, if I am able to expand upon it further in the future. A lot of it is still up in the air, such as character colors, names, and details. 

I figure it might be kind of neat to show some of this material for now, though. Plus, you can see their names now haha, a weird side effect of a no-dialogue comic was the lack of that (though you can see hints of it in some BG elements lol)

Sword Slime

The hero, Yushar, has raided the dungeon and stolen its treasure. A lone slime, with Yushar's sword wedged in his head and map to guide him, goos on a quest to track the hero down!  

A short non-dialogue one shot comic I've been meaning to make for a while. I decided to try submitting it for the Shonen jump manga contest earlier this month. The version I submitted is in Japanese layout and was more of a WIP.

Ivy bonus illustration

Here's some extra stuff, ended up fully drawing the Ivy part of this month's illustration. Plus a couple of older pics, an unfinished sketch and an image from Valentine's day a couple years ago.

Sophitia vs Ivy PSD and Process Video

Here is the PSD for the Sophitia vs Ivy image, and the process video.

The PSD files were a bit large for Patreon, so I put them in .zip files. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing the files. I split it into the main illustration file and the various iterations I had as I was making it in Procreate.

The process video includes both characters and the BG. The PSD has all the variations, so you can make your own mix, since there are more combinations than what I made pngs of....

I'm excited to see the official US distribution of the movie, it's definitely a gorgeous one and a lot of fun !

August Patreon Illustration Poll

I have a lot of incomplete drawings on my ipad that I've been meaning to finish. A handful of them are of characters I used to draw a lot but hadn't in a while, and some that I draw fairly regularly. I figure it'd be a good opportunity to finish these images. Let me know which one of these you'd like to see completed! Ideally, I will be able to do several, but at least one will be guaranteed for this...

Ok whew, that took a bit more than I anticipated to finish. Anyway, here's the the image, a few tweaks done plus some variations. Added Ms. Folia for all 4 face buttons / seemed like a fun detail to add lol. And Tonberry, apparently lol~

I might revisit some of the other FF7 pics later on, but a bit burned out on all that for the moment and will move on to this month's topics soon.

FF7R Tifa sketches

Whew! Ok this one took a bit longer, since a lot of them were scenes. Also, kept trying to draw ideas that came to mind, even if they didn't have Tifa in them. 

For the sake of keeping on the subject, I only posted the ones that focus on Tifa or have her in it, but once I finish the main image, I'll see what extra bonus pics I can do.

I think I'm leaning towards a few certain ones in this set, but I always like hearing your opinion! Which do you prefer?
