Debugging and fine tuning ...almost there!

Quick update to say I am still working hard on debugging and fine tuning…spent more than ten hours on it just over the last few days and am almost there! Will hit it some more tonight.

Just loaded V0.3 into Ren'py - debugging it now

Hi People, 

I’m pleased to announce some progress!  Words, code and images for Version 0.3 are all loaded into Ren’py as of yesterday.  Previously it was a humongous MSWord file and discrete images. 

Version 0.3 adds almost 30,000 new words and almost 600 new images to the game. 

Today I started running through it “live” in Ren’py, to debug it and to optimize the interaction of text and images.  This will take me a while, as NM now totals aro...

Getting to a release date….slowly

Arghh! Where did the last two weeks go? I’ve been adding text and matching it to images and writing if statements by the barrel load.  But study and job have been really busy too. (Damn the real world! Why won't it go away.)

So the end of the month is here and I’m still going. Really sorry guys.  I had hoped to be faster, and I’m very conscious that you are helping me pay for this. Like I’ve said before, I get a record of your payments, so if anyone wants to pull out or reduc...

Quick hello. With images pretty much done I'm busy on text.  17,000 words so far and a still few thousand to go, plus the odd rewrite.  Then I fit it all into Ren'py with loops and code and stuff.  Looking forward to getting it to you soon guys, although I cannot predict a release date.

Jo on the other hand has started relaxing with yoga classes this week.  I like that they told her to wear loose clothing!

I’m still hard at work on Version 0.3. Images are 95% done and there are lots of new words too.  And a couple of new characters!  Sounds a bit strange to add characters perhaps, but I am working them around enhanced plots for Jo, Sara and Indi.

Hi Gold Patrons,

Well, image-making is almost finished and I’ve made some animations too, just for the Gold version. 

There have been adjustments to the plot so that it focuses more on Jo, Sara and Indi. With these changes, they do more good things in Week Three and that will continue for the rest of the game.  

At present I’m writing (and rewriting) the words to suit the images for Version 0.3. If you make the right choices right Sara gets more affectionate this week...

Making progress

Hey people,

Just a quick update for you - I am still working hard on then next version of Naughty Magic.  Close to 300 new images!!!  The one above shows how Sara's inhibitions (and clothes) drop off as the game progresses......

I have also been making changes to the plot, in line with your preferences for the lovely Jo, sexy Sara and sweet Indi.  I cannot predict a release date yet but please be patient guys and I will have it out as soon as I can.

Hey Patrons,

First, thanks for the feedback on Jo and Vicky.  At 60% for a relationship and 40% against, it looks like I need to develop both alternatives, so I’m onto it.

Now, how about general progress? Well, image making is going pretty smoothly and I have more than 150 new images so far, plus lots of new text.

While writing the stories for week 3, I need to keep aware of what might follow in later weeks. I want to work towards a sleepover in week 5 or w...

There’s definitely something building up between them. Jo seems excited, but unsure of what to do. Should we let this thing between her and Jo continue to build and maybe blow a hole in our own plans, or should we discourage it?

Version 0.3 is coming together really well.  Some nice plot lines and lots of new images. Here’s one...sweet Indi, hard at work…a scene from the "tutor Indi" path.

It’s getting to be a more complex game as use of magic and other decisions influence multiple characters.  Magic and other decisions may take you down particular paths, and a decision in week 2 or 3 may influence a path for several weeks after.

Hi patrons,

The poll showed a strong interest in Jo, Sara and Indi.  So, I’ve taken a moment to stop making images for version 0.3 and just let the girls relax in the hot tub. These may end up in a later part of the game and who knows what they might get up to.

Big files, as they are poster-sized images. So much so that I need to send in two posts.

Getting a bug for Dani's pool scene?

Hey Gold Patrons,

Hope you are enjoying the game the game.  Couple of issues - 

I have a report that the gold scenes at Dani's pool (on Sunday afternoons) are not working. I just replayed my version from the start and it worked for me, but has anyone else had the no-play problem?  If you have, give me whatever details you can so I can find the bug.

Another comment was - does Control work to fast play dialogue? It does for me but again - please tell me if you are not ...

Effing quotation marks!

Hey guys, I'm taking a break from entering  text and code, 'cos my hand hurts!

Why you ask?  Well I write everything initially in MS Word, as it is easier than going straight to Ren'py.  Writing and images are finished, so I have  done a big copy and  paste....just under 40,000 words from Word to Ren'py.

Then I need to reformat in Ren'py, and believe it or not that means I need to add quotation marks on almost every freaking line...I am talking more than 10,000 o...

Thought I’d better check in! My real life has been distracting me recently, but I am now happily at work on Version 0.2 again. 

The pic above comes from Saturday afternoon of week 2.  Is that Arion in street clothes? And is Evie actually enjoying his company?  One little sequence in week 2, but with big implications for several twists later in the game.  The first two weeks set up a whole lot of stuff for later.  Makes me feel like a time traveler som...

Must have dozed off

I've been busy making images for the game and am almost there for the next release, with close to 400 new images!  Still have to tie them to the text (over 20,000 words) and programming, but it's going well.

Here is a scene I just made for your "gold" version - attention from the girls after you dozed off beside Dani's pool.  This'll go in the game.  The extra one I've attached is a bit of fun for now... will they always wear those costumes!?

I'm busy on Version 0.2 of Naughty Magic. It's turning out to be quite a large undertaking but it's looking really good. 

Today I thought I'd take a quick break from making game images to bring you a rather festive looking Sara instead.
