Its a two for one! A good boi and a piece of crap.
In their episode, we'll discuss the conflicts after the deaths of Pope John V and Pope Conon, bribery, blind ambition, breeching canon laws, and magic?

Recently, Bry and Fry discovered a very bad book: The Pope's Granddaughter, by James Truax. It presented itself as an "erotic mystery" that went "ultimately to Rome and the very private apartments of the Vatican, where the conspiracy finally comes to light."
We were in! So we gathered together the members of the conclave, and had a reading party. We weren't prepared for the utter level of trash ahead of us.

Today, Pontifacts turns two years old, and we're amazed at what an excellent year we had in the podcast. And a HUGE part of that is the support of our patrons! You have helped the show stay hosted, helped us attend Sound Education in Boston, and helped with a ton of research materials we couldn't have otherwise accessed! We're extremely grateful for your support, and want to just say thank you! We appreciate every single one of you, and promise to bring new exciting surpr...

The New Pope exists. Will we hate it as much? Maybe.

2020-03-01 04:37:33 +0000 UTC View PostHello Patrons!
Things have been a little jumbled lately - I'm still dealing with car accident injuries, been sick for the last three weeks, and on top of that, my poor dog also got very sick and gave us quite a scare! So, we've fallen a little behind as far as updates go.
We're still in a very big lull for antipopes, so here is how our current schedule is working out, please feel free to send requests if there is something you'd like to hear about!

For now.
With the editing of Gregory behind us, Fry can finally keep working on these!
Here's our thoughts on episode 5.
It's time to talk about episodes 2 and 3 of The Young Pope.
We still hate when he winks.
You wanted to know, and here it is! Bry and Fry have watched through the first 2 episodes of The Young Pope, and have a lot of thoughts.
Intro to follow along our exploration of the paintings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPjW75fIbUo
(More episodes are on their way shortly, Fry is a bit behind because of vacation and holidays.)

Are you ready for a wild and brutal journey, exploring some of the oddest, most unusual saints from the ancient world? We've got apostles, we've got poor young women, we have patron sainthoods you never thought of, and more.
(we're sorry for weird audio!)
Fry's Edit: My bad, you guys. I don't know if it was the surprise snow (and downed branches) or what, but our internet has been very wonky the past few days. Rest assured, you will be getting a No...

Boniface's antipope, Eulalius, was the result of a sneakesneak jump election, which set the brash standard for the whole of his antipapacy. Dragging sick men out of bed, ignoring imperial orders, and pulling an Emperors-New-Groove definitely makes him our uppity-est antipope to date.

This poor archdeacon was thrust in the middle of the ongoing war between the orthodox church and the Emperor, and he did not have a good time. He also did not have a good face.
