Behold the bold. No don't hold the bold! No now you're folding the bold! No now you're looking beyond the threshold with the bold!
A fun piece for kobold commando involving Camilla (they/them) and Camithyr (they/ them)!
Zefius likes Final Fantasy, and in the game there's this flower called the "Elpis Flower" that changes color according to your emotional state. It was nice coming up with visual language that was suitable to the lore of the game while also making a piece that helped tell his story! Definitely a little challenging but I'm happy with the final result!

Vad comes home and is sweaty from work. You see him take off his shirt. He sees you seeing him. Uh oh!
2dongz commissioned this for their significant other, which I appreciate. I do always like when someone gets a gift for someone else. That's the kindness I like to see in the world.
This was a heartwarming little scene to depict. Two characters just enjoying each other's company while reading a book, or in Bree's case having a book read to you.

A piece of personal significance to Tur, while also depicting a scene that really struck them in The Last of Us. I really like this one. It's moody and atmospheric, it's got references to previous works I've done. It's a piece about rebuilding your own world and having the strength to be a part of it again after a tragedy.

Nalz and Grey! A piece for my roommate and their new significant other, who also needed a design, because she wasn't yet a furry! HAH! Another conversion! Just a quiet lewd moment between these two.

My second of two Christmas pieces this year! Brian belongs to Huttser who is an amazing cook, and Harlow belongs to Zech who enjoys eating. Don't we all! Turns out Christmas trees are kind of hard to make look good! It really didn't start looking good until I brought the whole thing together!

The first of two Christmas projects! Atticus and Hyena enjoy each other's company while baking together, so here's a piece of art commemorating that! Here they are making cupcakes for Christmas. Fun fact, this is referencing their actual kitchen.
Not so fun fact, rendering marbled tabletops is HARD!
Jall and Caaaarrrrll! If you're even remotely on Twitch, then you know these two! Jall is like several balls of energy got together to summon the God of balls of energy on stream, and Caaaarrrrll is a sweetheart on stream and a killer artist, and they're both the sweetest couple ever! Congrats to the both of them!
This piece depicts a road the two of them walk down engaging in an activity the two of them love the most, making each other laugh!
This one turned into a bit of a doozy, but when's the last time I didn't say that about a piece, right? With this piece I like to think back to one of the first times I tried to paint with multiple light sources with different colors, which I've also included in attachments here for posterity! It didn't turn out too great, and I didn't even think so back then! 12 and some change years of improvement!

Russ Pinup: Okay... sooooo, admittedly got a little out of control with this one. Thought "Oh yeah adding a couple background elements to a piece! Easy, simple! Not a single problem! I was wrong and my "Gotta make this the best" brain took over. Took on a little too much for what was made, but THAT'S okay! Just means I can course correct in the future and hardcore limit my scope to fit the price better!
This was howev...
A piece about trauma, moving on, learning to live, learning to trust, learning to be okay with imperfections, rebuilding a life, being part of something bigger, support. Honestly, it's about a lot, which is partially why it took so long.
Ideas and art like this require a bare minimum of respect. What amount of respect would be considered "enough"? I try to work regardless of whether or not I'm emotionally capable of generating such respect, but sometimes it's just like, "wow, I'm not ...
So.... I've discovered Clip's 3D model feature.... Honestly, it took me places I wasn't ready to go yet! Like the pose is fine, and I'm like, "holy shit this tool's amazing." Then I realized that there needed to be a background and I wasn't ready for such devastating news. It was a success in lots of places and didn't quite make it in others, but I'm hoping I can wrangle myself in and figure out the background-a-ma-bobs as I go, through sketchbooking!
A pinup for Ty and Angel!
Ziggu Pinup: Just a piece of someone airing out! Originally, I saw this pose when Ziggu gave me Grimrulfur's image of his character doing the same pose! Didn't want to step on any toes so I asked for permission to use the pose! He kindly allowed it, as it turns out it was a meme pose, which was very funny!
Fynath Pinup: A piece for one of the generous patrons, Fynath! The colors in this were particularly inventive and fun to work on, as I experiment to create an interesting layout for ...
I started on this and I think I explained these things well, if briefly. Of course, I then wanted to explain more longly, because there's a lot left out so I guess we'll call these cliff notes, for a bigger project that doesn't exist yet, and I might turn it into a video.
Either way this is the value study I did and I wanted to leave behind some notes for people who want to learn values too!
Here's some more! Having something that people want that I can crank out quickly is VERY useful. Before I've had difficulty getting myself in the art chair, but having something I know I can get out in a day or two definitely helps me get my engine powered, giving me energy to do the several bigger projects I know I need to get done. It's like I left the lights on in my car, and doing these gave me a jump start and now I'm driving around a little to rebuild my batteries.
To those bigge...
Having done this a while ago, I can now say that this study is incredibly valuable as both a study and a reference! I come back to it regularly to remember how to draw arms! It's also very gratifying to have the knowledge of these muscles in my head so I can say which arm bumps are which muscles!
While I am offering this diagram to anyone who wants it, I also recommend creating your own and drawing a series of arms as well! Very useful! Will be doing this with the whole body eventuall...
Deeply unsatisfied with the way I drew possums, I decided on doing this study, and most likely more animals in the future! Not satisfied with drawing dog with weird ears, I decided on finally learning how to draw these smelly trash cats. It would be nice to know how to draw that species I am! So yeah! Enjoy, this first of many weekly studies to come! This week, I'm thinking of studying arms!

So these are quickies! Little things I can crank out in a day! A combination of remaking an old sketch I did for someone years ago, and wanting to test the aforementioned leaning back method of painting. So far so good, though I do want to keep more structure, get a bit more expressive with colors, while also maintaining a color scheme, and keep that all within 1 day of work if I can help it!

A gift for a friend that I think was important for the emotional value, but also because it helped correct a genuine problem I've had for years. I have a tendency to lean over my work and this piece helped me relax and lean back in my chair while I drew. I tell no lie, this has been a legit game changer for me. As you'll see in the next post... or if you're new and scrolling, you've already seen it and hello future person!

My grandma passed away recently. She was getting old and it was her time it seemed. Went to visit family for a celebration of her life, which was getting together for a crawfish boil! Grandma loved the beach and seafood! Back in South Alabama I remember VERY much how we would always go out to seafood restaurants when we wanted to have a "fancy" dinner influenced by my grandmother no doubt.
Being someone who left Alabama for more northern locations, naturally I thought, "Wow I haven't t...
Hoosier wanted a ref sheet! An updated version of them that would show more of their alien origins. A separation between themselves and the Shishidogs that inspired the design! The design philosophy of this page is, "What if someone was there and was sketching Hoosier in a painting/ sketchbook." Hence the use of paint swatches at the top, and leaving behind the sketch underneath the "paint".

I came across a recent piece I did for Fraye's redesign! I wanted to see how I'd handle it now, and I gotta say I think I have even better ideas now than I did back then!
I designed Fraye using an older version of them so that their design didn't change too much, but also included aspects of dress designed to be attractive!
Virgil is a character that hides themselves, is silent, etc, but also had some physique aspects that had to be included! So get this right? I though, what's...
It's been a while since I've posted, for which I apologize! I got caught up in a vicious cycle of draw, not know how to post/ categorize things, get distracted and make no progress in posting! So I'm just jumping into it!
Anywho, these are all the sketches I've done over the last little while!
Marlowetigy wanted to be looking at you! I wanted to draw those hands! We reached a wonderful compromise~

So this one will be accomplished with inks! This is going to leave me with a bit of stuff I need to figure out going into the final like direction of brush strokes, etc. but that'll be fun to figure out! It's comforting knowing I have all of this work behind me that's going to make the final picture look amazing!
This one was fun to think about! Hearing all about this person's story was endearing and my mind kind of was all over the place! I had a moment where I was going to make the c...
I've been meaning to keep a sketchbook! I've needed to for a while! It's just a great place to explore ideas because it's so... inconsequential! I don't need to worry about how good an idea turns out because nothing bad happens if I do a bad job, and after doing exclusively commissions for the past few years, it feels good to do something just because.
It was very kind of you all to donate your characters for this venture to get me started! So thank you, for all of your support and mor...
As promised here's the timelapse to go along with the painting! See if you can pick out where I got frustrated!
This one was very fun to do. It was hard for me to conceptualize a means by which to communicate isolation via COVID, and surviving through that and being together once again, and personally, I think the shatter computer screens were a pretty clever idea~
Enjoy the Lofi!
This one was a toughie! after the idea phase! The ideas generally came easy, it was the execution that killed me! First I ran into putting in too much detail in the face and not enough expression, then it was making the screens not completely take over the image, then it was wrangling all of those colors properly, but I got it! Eventually! And it looks great!
Look forward to seeing my struggle in the timelapse!
