Alright, maybe the subject matter of the last story wasn't the biggest hit, but I'd like to try this again. I'll write a short story based on one of the following scenarios. Tomboy theme.
Please keep in mind that none of my stories will ever have the underdog 'winning' in the end. I do not like those kinds of stories. If the bully is winning in the beginning, he's going to win in the end. The only exception is if both characters are bullies.

I could sink another four hours into this and it would still look unfinished. That's my problem with comics. I end up treating each panel like its own piece instead of a single coherent image. After my September break I might need to put another moratorium on these, I don't know. The last panel is a good example of what minimal shading looks like. I wonder if I could get away with leaving comics like that.

I've had a lot of trouble writing recently. A LOT. In the past two months I've started five different stories, and reaching about 5,000 and 10,000 words I realize that I have no idea where I'm going, or why I even try.
To remedy this, I want to write a short story. Very shot. One scene. Two or three characters max. No 'story' really.
My stories tend to be really fucked up so feel free to not vote if you don't want to.

Cave-girls. Haven't done much with them, which is odd. I really like them. After my brief stint of Dizzy comics, I considered making another OC that was a cave-girl, and I jotted down a bunch of ideas for comics for her. The running theme was that they'd be completely without text. No talking. All the jokes had to be visual, since the cave-girl would be so primitive that he doesn't have a verbal language.

My original intention was to show a tomboy travelling via skateboard, but I couldn't find a good reference, so I ended up with this. I should also say that I have a very expansive view on tomboys. They don't actually need to be girls pretending to be boys. I really enjoy drawing chibis actually, along with dwarves, gnomes, and halflings. I think I enjoy them because they're easier to draw than full bodied people. For some reason, when trying to draw a regular person, I REALLY fuck up the proportions a lot. I end up with legs that are too long, or uneven, or I have torsos that are all fucked up. Having characters that are compact really helps 'artists' like me who don't have a good grasp of human anatomy.

I'm getting better at lager compositions with multiple characters, but HOLY SHIT does it take me a long time. Working on a single character can go very smoothly, because I don't hesitate to edit multiple layers at once, but in a scene with a background or other character, editing one layer means I might fuck up three others.
