Hello all. Those on the Footman tier and up will have seen the poll I posted about a tweak to the design of Boerewors, making him an antelope/horse hybrid instead of a horse/horse hybrid. Character adjustment: Boerewors

Hey guys!

So if you've played build 0.2.5, you may have met Boerewors already, the equitaur at the manor. An equitaur has the upper body of an anthro horse, and the lower body of a regular one.

Due to some internal character shuffling, I decided I would rather he not be equine in both halves. The purpose of his character is better served by making his hybridity extra-apparent, and so I've decided to rather make his upper half an antelope - specifically, an oryx (gemsbok).

Character Name Pronunciation Guide

Sewri? Flaks? Rhoeuv? Am I writing a porn game or a sequel to Jupiter Ascending?

Build 0.2: "Furious Bird"

And here it is! The next playable build. This one ups the word count by thirty thousand words, which is right on target for my goal of 15,000 words per month of work. It introduces several new characters, gives a bunch of worldbuilding, and advances us to the next phase of Flax's adventure :)

It also includes a few tracks of music as I begin experimenting with some CC music.

Minor reward clarification

Hey guys! Just wanted to mention a small tweak I made to clarify the reward tiers. Previously, they all mentioned "access to early game builds" which was slightly confusing, since it wasn't clear what they were early in relation to. Plus, with the addition of the weekly beta builds I now do for the upper tiers, it was even more confusing.

Simple update

Hey all. Just a small update to say I'm still alive, I guess :P Churning out words for the next build, which will land end of this month. 20-30k new words.  Butler and Valet tiers have had access to weekly beta builds for a while, and the feedback has been great. I think you're gonna love it :)

New names!

Though I'm not writing on the game this month, I have been using bits of time to do some creative admin-work, like cleaning up character goals and names. I want the names to represent a good spread of all the cultures here, as well as acting as lodestones for what their personalities are like.

Slang?

So I avoided a lot of slang in the text I've written so far, but as I begin to write multiple characters and get into the meat of the story, the different personalities begin to form, and slang is a great way to give them a little colour.

So how would you all feel about South African slang being added to the text? This would be all forms of local slang, including words from our many languages, local words with no overseas analogues, and that sort of thing.

Babbelas and Bakgat

The second-last tier of Patreon lets you place your fursona into the game as a minor character. Character Design - Nabo

Nabo the bratty rhino, in the flesh :)

As you can see, there's several options for hair and nose configuration, but the one that I think stands out is the top knot one. And while African rhinos do have two horns, the second one only grows in later, so I see his single horn as a visual mark of his immaturity (plus the second one takes up too much space on the face and would obscure expressiveness).

Species switch: Rav <-> Aonyx

After getting started on the Aonyx route, I almost instantly realised I was missing an opportunity by having him be an otter. While there are African otters, they're not different from European ones in a way that anyone would care about. Meanwhile, I "used up" a meerkat in the intro and he's not even fuckable! The damn cocktease. SO.

I'm gonna swap them around. Rav will be a clawless otter (and let's be honest, otter suits his predilections perfectly) while Aonyx will become a meerkat. ...

Writing style

My writing style, where possible, enjoys going on little detours to think about things--for want of a better term. Given the voice of the game, that's bits like you see in the current build if you take the non-party path, where the character spends quite some time mulling over his goals for life, and what to do, as well as his introspection about malefics. Build 0.1 next weekend

Hello everyone. As the title says, the first properly playable build, v0.1, will land next weekend. This is the full intro to the game, with two paths and various minor decisions, coming to about 10,000 words. This build does not yet have any spritework and only placeholder backgrounds, so don't expect many visuals. Family options
