Arwen WIPS!

Had a cosplay work weekend in - it was honestly kind of too hot and gross to do much of anything else.

Dress is mostly together and all the bottom edges are hemmed (top half of the over-the-shoulder sleeve is still raw because I'm NOT entirely sure how I'm going to attach the cape bit just yet). I got the satin for the main body of the dress on amazon - its NOT always the easiest way to buy fabric if you don't know what you're looking for since they dong offer anyway to get swatches to ...

Bristol Weekend 2.0!

Success! I love being this horrible, wretched blonde woman.

We're trying for one more Ren Faire weekend this season, but heading up to Shakopee in MN in September. Fingers crossed that's enough time for me to get Arwen done. That's the goal but I'm about 50/50 on how reasonable that is at this point. Only time and hopefully a few good nights of sewing will tell!

Bristol Weekend (and ANOTHER one?!)

Taking Jhoira to Bristol was great fun! I haven't seen Chase since MC Minneapolis so it was good to catch up for a bit. We got some fun shots of Jhoira that I'll share as soon as he has time to process them and I chucked a bunch of the selfies into the Jhoira gallery already.

I'm ALSO going to Bristol THIS weekend! One weekend is good so two must be better eh? Not entirely sure what I'm going to wear but I'm definitely thinking Ianthe, since I wore her pre-lyctor at ACEN with my sister...

Post-Barcelona Check-in

Chandra's HOME! I've got lots of silly pictures from Barcelona (most of them are me and friends eating food because that's the only time I had my phone on me) but OTHER people have lots of photos of me too and I'm sure those will filter in.

A bunch of people are headed straight to Gen Con but I will NOT be among them... It'll certainly feel weird not being there, but I'm looking forward to the break I think.

Barcelona and the Magic Con was incredible, more stories to come.

Pre-Barcelona Check in!

I'm SO excited for Barcelona. A friend's bringing a camera so we might have new Chandra stuff to share and of course I'll have selfies and stories galore. I might just make an entire folder/gallery for Barcelona stuff and dump it all in there.

Arwen dress is coming along! I'm very much liking the fabric that I found and of course that Butterick dress pattern is an all-time fav. I'm aiming to have it done for the MN ren faire since it'll be cooler there to wear it plus Chase will be arou...

Busy Weekend Updates!

Something made and some bought things arrived!

Made stuff: I started working on designing and patterning Arwen's dress. Since BOTH pieces of art aren't super specific, I thought the best way to make use of that open design space was to draft a mock-up from my favorite dress pattern (Butterick 4827) and then work off of it to design a final on my dress form. Bonus points for making use of old curtains! Assuming I don't destroy the mock-up I'll probably also finish it as a dress to wear ...

BIRHTDAY!

Its officially Tappy Birfday! My friends posted some lovely, ridiculous pictures of me and it makes me delighted to see them so I figured I'd share. Do you something nice for yourself because its my day and I said so <3

Unicorn Flowers

These pretty purple flowers bloom every year around this time and it always reminds me of the impromptu photoshoot that me and Chase did in my backyard at like... 10PM.

I love this stupid movie and this silly costume so much. (I love Chase too because he's a big giant goofy goober who's my friend and takes incredible pictures, but I think y'all def already new THAT).

I DO appreciate Miccostumes/Mobbunny for the customer service at least,  I got an email with the delay details with the option to cancel my order if I didn't wait to wait the extra month(?) probably? So they get points for that if anyone was wondering how their customer service was.

We missed Chase dearly at ACEN this year, but we got a few shots with another local photographer (InfinitySpiralPhotography on IG). These turned out fucking SLICK.

Goth Girl Reposts from World Goth Day!

Its very possible you've already seen these - I reposted some of the goth girl stuff from like... what, WOW TWO YEARS AGO NOW? When I threw this outfit together. But who knows who's on IG and twitter now (I feel like IG only works for me about half the time anyway RIP).

Chase did some new edits on that last one and it IS the same wig, so I'll post that one around on IG too, assuming the stupid app will let me. Ugh.

Helltaker Out-take(rs)

We put on the Helltaker costumes for a LITTLE bit on Friday night, but then Helltaker's contacts were starting to irritate his eyes so we changed and I put on the silly Jhoira outfit instead. Always cosplay safely friends and let this be a reminder that its always okay to change your plans to be comfty!

M30 was incredible, I'm exhausted but super happy. Chase took fuckloads of amazing pictures.

I think I scared some folks on twitter with this first picture - no worries, it IS in fact a wig. I'd never dye my hair blonde.

Ianthe make up test (another one of the Locked Tomb lesbians), its looking like I might wear her for ACEN. Time to buy a sword. Also heard that I should be both Alucard and Lestat since this is the same look, apparently.

Miccostumes/Mobbunny are two brands I've bought from in the past ANNNNND they put out Bayonetta-inspired designs and I snapped em' up IMMEDIATELY (if you wonder what I use the Patreon money for, its stuff like this XD)
