Live Discussion this Saturday

I have been invited to a live discussion this Saturday at noon. It's hosted by a fellow pilot (we both work at the same airline, although we have never met). He has his own channel, facebook group and stuff like that. Details on how to find it will be coming soon.

The polls have spoken

After the recent polls it's very clear that the next airplane video will be a full length feature on the Ki-84. It's already in production and well on the way.

I will be releasing a short automotive video possibly later today. This one is about a new performance product for Fiats.

The Patreon section will be updated with the new manuals for the Sea Fury in the next couple of days. I'm sitting home with a back injury, which is great for getting videos done. That's allowing me...

It's not quite done formatting, but you should be able to see it through this link right now.

Finally, The Sea Fury video is going up today.

This is one of my longest videos ever. There was just so much to cover, not only the Sea Fury, but the principles and history of the sleeve valve engines and the Sea Fury's use in two "wars". Plus, Sea Furys are still active in air racing, so I had to talk about that. Again, it's a long video, but I hope you like it.

I will have the document section updated with the new Sea Fury manuals etc. within a week, so keep an eye out here for the new links.

Hawker Sea Fury Preview Video, Patreons Only No Ads

https://youtu.be/R-loV68iBMc

This is a short preview video of the upcoming Hawker Sea Fury video. Rather than make you wait for the full video, I thought I would put this up for Patreons only at this point. Yes, I know it's not full screen, the actual video will be, again, this is just a preview. I'll have the relevant manuals up when the main video comes out.

Manual Locations

I'm getting a few questions about how to find the manuals. Also some people, when upgrading their accounts haven't been able to find the additional manuals. Here is what you do.

Simply scroll down below here to find the post that corresponds to your tier level and that will have the links. If you upgrades your tier, then new posts will be visible to you. I'll see if I can find a way to pin these to the top, which will help, but so far I can only seem to pin the Captain tier's links so i...

Video choice Ki-84, vs....

The next video coming up covers the Hawker Sea Fury. However there are several in production which could go up after the Sea Fury video. I'm curious to know which one you would like next.

Japanese manuals

Various Japanese manuals have been added to the drive. The Captain level tier has quite a few, the F.O. tier has the A6M3 only. Also a new poll is going up within the hour. Please vote in it, the polls here help me decide the channel direction.

New Video Going up today, in a few hours.

At 7pm central my next video should be up. It's actually there now but won't be public until later. At the moment youtube is still "processing" it so you can only see it in lower resolution.

It's a cockpit tour of the Dora using DCS. I cover a lot of stuff I haven't really talked about before like aircraft ignition systems and much more.

It's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uisvWtR3aE<...

Links now work

I updated the folders with the manuals and books three days ago. Some of the links were down, they should now work. If they don't please let me know here.

Ki-61 Tony 2 Engine, the Kawasaki Ha60 Inverted V-12 engine

This is the real deal, the Kawasaki Ha60 engine used in the later Ki-61 Tonys. This picture is not of a German DB, Aichi or any other variant, it's the actual Kawasaki engine. This one is based on the German DB605.

Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien "Tony"

It was a bit of a surprise to me, but the Ki 61 won the poll and thus jumps to the front of the line. I'm hoping to have this video up this coming weekend. As you can imagine, specifics for this plane are scarce, but I do have enough to go on. I have good test data for the plane and the complete engine manual. With the engine manual, which is in Japanese and in a font no translator recognizes, plus general knowledge, I can piece it together pretty well. I think you folks will like it.

P-39 Airacobra, US vs. Soviet Use video is here now.

I have uploaded the new P-39 video, it's long. It had to be in order to fully answer the question of why the plane has such a good record with the Soviets, and not so with the USAAF. I hope you like it.

The Drive will be updated with the various P-39 manuals including the Soviet manuals sometime in the next few days.

Also, I have taken down the teespring store. Quality seemed generally low and inconsistent, text wasn't legible, and colors faded. We have...

Video about the importance of Fighter Pilot experience levels in WW2.

Video about the importance of Fighter Pilot experience levels in WW2.

I should have the new video up very soon, it's a short video that's going public as soon as it's uploaded. The link is at the bottom of this post.

This video started out as a part of my next P-39 video. Lack of combat experience and proper doctrine was a big part of the reason the P-39's record in the Pacific is poor,  at least in relative terms. Rather than explain the importance of pilot experience in tha...

Off line for a bit, I'll be back soon

Hi Folks,

I'll be offline for about two weeks, but I am working on videos and I should be back on line with new videos soon after. I just don't want anyone to think I'm ignoring their questions.

Patreon Folder Conspiracy Theory Update

I put a folder labeled "Conspiracy Theories" in the Patreon section. I don't want anyone to join just to find what's in there. That's not my intention.

There are two manuals, one is the Majestic 12 manual, and the other is the actual full Supervisor's edition for the Dominion Voting machine. It's the real deal, so you can see for yourself if votes could be changed once they are cast. I'm not trying to argue that votes were or were not changed, I'm just posting the manual.

Google Drive for manuals etc.

I'm reorganizing the manuals on the google Drive right now, so many links may be broken while I'm doing it. It's a big job so it may take another couple of days. While I'm in there I'm adding a lot of stuff. So there will be more stuff, and it will be better organized.

P-39 Video

The P-39 video will be up the following location within about 30 mins of this post.

https://youtu.be/_U6zp2bzVcA

I hope you folks like it. This one took a lot of time to make. I cover the reasons for the mid engine design, the pros and cons, and some of the myths about it. NOTE: The manuals are not up yet. I figured I would put up the video now while I have the time. I'll add the manuals soon, probabl...

Re organizing manuals etc.

I'm going to reorganize the drive folders. As I have added things it's become a bit of mess. Nothing is being deleted, but things may disappear for a few days as I move them around. When it's all done it will be easier for you to navigate.

I'm also adding quite a few more manuals soon, P-39, A6M Zero (don't get excited it's a terrible copy of a terrible manual in Japanese), HE177 and more!

I'm premiering a new video today.

New video coming today. It's a short video that was a part of a longer one, but I broke it up a bit. I'll go over the speeds of the B-17, B-24 and Lancaster.

I haven't put the new manuals mentioned in the video up yet. I'll do that within the next week. I really need to re organize all the manuals, when I started this there weren't that many, but now it's a bit of a mess, so I'll clean that up and make it easier for you to find stuff.

New Avro Lancaster Video is up

I have put up the new video for the Lancaster. It's probably part 1 of a series, I'll wait to see how it does before I commit to that. In this episode I cover the bomb bay, wing position, tail, and defensive firepower. I hope you like it. I did try to include some rarely seen pictures.

New Video, Supermarine Seafire 47!

I went with the Seafire 47 for the first British Super prop video because it's really a continuation of a WW2 fighter, just heavily modified.

It's not the best Superprop, it's not even the best British Superprop. In fact, now that I think about it, it's not even the best Superprop from Supermarine. That said, it's a really cool plane with the awesome Griffon engine and contra-rotating props. Plus, I think it's beautiful. There are very few pictures of these  planes, so I had ...
