Shaoxing
A syndicate bodyguard robot who enjoys *ahem Ethanol based fuel sources. Shaoxing's employers removed many of her safety limiters, granting her a greater degree of independent agency. However it has also resulted in her being lazy, cantankerous and hedonistic. Her combat skills, however, are undeniable. Substituting traditional qigong with internal combustion, Shaoxing combines the grace and flow of Kung Fu with the precision and horsepower of a mechanical body.
Professor Coach
The digital mentor of the Actiranger Team! Though usually present as a hologram, in emergencies she can project a hard-light avatar in order to fight (among other things.). The hard-light body is held back by its lack of weight and solidity, leading to her avatar being somewhat fragile and reducing her damage output. However she makes up for it with her impeccable athletic technique and speed, augmented by the ability to teleport and create illusions.

YUSEONG
A popular singer who secretly moonlights as a masked combatant in the underground fighting arena! Yuseong is a half-dokkaebi demon who can shift between human and demon guises. They utilize a complex fighting style with their three-section micstand. In-game their abilities revolve around numerous stances allowing them to shift between various game-plans to confound their opponent on top of their Hype Devil Install transformation which alters their abilities further. Arguably no fighter is harder to predict (or play) in Rumble than Yuseong.
ACTIRANGER RED
The leader of the Actiranger Team! Red is a baseball star with astonishing levels of physical fitness and an unshakable demeanor. He's the quintessential hero, brave, kind, and humble. Though he's got a cunning streak beneath his earnest charm. With his variable speed pitch projectiles and powerful slugger swings, Red is a balanced fighter at any distance, fitting the Shoto archetype. Red's playstyle rewards good fundamentals and is an excellent choice for newcomers and fighting game veterans alike!
I think Red might have a bit of an uphill battle in this matchup. The winner will score 1 point for their side and will feature in an art piece "defeating" their opponent.

I love crossover fighters and it's been teased a bit that Rumble and the Actirangers take place in the same setting, so let's have some fun.
Starting next week I will be posting a series of 8 matchups between the Rumble After Dark roster and the Sporting Sentai ActiRanger cast.
Each pairing will be accompanied by a patron poll the winner will score 1 point for their side. The results will feature an art post depicting the winner "defeating" their opponent!

Some folks have been asking more about Cass' backstory and and her "twin". The two of them are secret government clones of the world's most powerful psychic (recently deceased).
Might as well take this moment to talk about him since I don't expect him to come up very often otherwise.
A few fun facts:
Their original template had very dramatic range with both telekinesis and telepathy. Isaac and Cassandra are considered unsatisfactory clones given that they each only received one of the powers and at extremely diminished range.
Isaac is one of my oldest OCs, Cassandra was originally designed to be his evil opposite/twin but she ended up becoming the more fun and interesting character and took the spotlight.
Isaac's power of "Tactile Telekinesis" is directly lifted from the 90s incarnation of Superboy, Kon-El. Though I gave it a different spin so that it's not just a Superman Flying Brick power set.
Ataraxia is a made-up mental health disorder and a reference to Josh Hartnett's character in the movie Lucky Number Slevin.
There is a third clone.
As a lot of people suspected, Sophie is in fact, Madison's maid.

Been going back and forth with the lovely Potlucksoup with Ollie.

I caught a pretty bad flu after doing a bit of traveling last week and it really kicked my butt. I've mostly been in bed with a fever, watching anime and listening deliriously to audiobooks. I would have posted an update earlier but honestly my sense of time has been SUPER messed up. Before I knew it I hadn't posted anything for a week! I'm Sorry!

A puppet fighter has been one of the most requested archetypes for Rumble After Dark and it's taken me a long time to decide how I'd want to play with the concept. Eventually I decided to go with something more supernatural given that we've already got a lot of sci-fi elements but we haven't delved too much into the fact that there's demons hanging around in the setting.
Noah is AFAB They/Them, and what is happening under their shirtdress is entirely up to speculation.
EVO weekend is over and I'm in a real fighting game mood so I've decided to finally make these Rumble Fighters official by adding them to the Fighter Select sheet! Some of them have gotten full character profiles already while others are still in progress.
