An important reminder regarding save data

With the release of version 3.1.1, It has been brought to my attention by many players that they keep getting a loading error at certain points when trying to play using previous save file. I had brought this issue up in earlier updates, but I absolutely need to stress that as this is a game in progress, save file compatibility issues WILL occur when you try and load up a save made in a previous version. UPDATE!! 11/1/20

First off, I hope that everyone enjoyed their Halloween! I've gotten started on fixing some smaller issues from the vampire route. I'm rebalance few vampire skills to make them more useful and less buggy. For example, the "bat form" skill has been a headache to work on since it temporarily changes your character sprite into a bat.... sometimes. I also just don't see it as very useful in it's current form so that's a big one that's getting a change.

UPDATE!! 10/18/20

The walkthrough is now updated to version 3.1.1 and is available to view. I've been brainstorming some ideas here and there for the next update and honestly, I haven't landed on any concrete ideas. I see in my head characters and scenes I want to add, but not a way for them to mesh cohesively. How has everyone enjoyed the new content so far? Have you gotten the chance to play it yet? My weekend has been fairly busy personally, so I understand if not everyone has been able to play try the newest version yet.

Crimson Veil 3.1 is now available to all Patrons!

The public release for 3.1 will be on October 23!

Just in time for the weekend, the newest version of Crimson Veil is now ready to play for all of my wonderful patrons! Any bugs presented to me by my testers has been fixed, but as always please report any issues you encounter in the game so that I can resolve them in the public release! I hope you all enjoy it and let me know what you think!

UPDATE!! 10/4/20

Quick update because there isn't much to cover this week! The newest update is nearly done! All events are scripted, all remaining art is done! All that's left to do is to finish checking for bugs. I have sent the newest version out to my testers so I should hopefully get a response within a few days. UPDATE!! 9/27/20

Bianca's Diary is now done... mostly. All the writing and scripting is complete, it just requires a bit more testing to make sure there aren't any unintended hiccups. Since this is primarily a story driven quest, there were many scripted events that link into each other. That means finding a glitch or error late into an event means starting the test play over from the beginning and having to play the same scenes over and over and over... It's quite tedious.

I wasn't able to finish scripting Bianca's Diary this week like I wanted to. Right now, I would say it's pretty close to finished, roughly 80% or so. I mainly have to script the final scene, (which has a few parts to script in it) and one extra bad ending sequence. This week turned out to be as busy for me outside of the game as I was expecting.

This week has unfortunately been extremely busy with real life obligations, so progress was slow this week. Regrettably, I couldn't find any time to write this week so my goal was to focus on finishing all of the art.  Save for a few updated character portraits, all of the art is now done! I did some miscellaneous updates this week. No real focus, I just worked on a few things here and there. 

I cleaned up some small bugs and grammar/spelling mistakes in the script that had been brought up to me. The tavern bad ending from chapter 1 has been updated with some art, since the art included is similar to a new bad ending scene that is being added. I also did sprite work this week. UPDATE!! 8/30/20

This week, I was brainstorming on how to implement a new skill into the game. It would be a skill that would allow you to scan enemies to view information such as their remaining HP, weaknesses, etc. While looking up how to create such a skill, I ended up diving deep into adding new plugins for the game, and boy are there a lot of great quality of life changes coming to Crimson Veil!

UPDATE!! 8/23/20

This week I began scripting Bianca's Diary proper. I've written the dialogue and scripted the events until about the halfway point. The majority of Bianca's story is going between her house in Mor Town and the Cliffside Library. I find that going back and forth through these locations is rather tedious (especially since many of us have done this trek several times by now in repeated playthroughs)!
