I gotta confess: if this page wasn't for Patreon, I would have just copy/pasted actual screenshots for the top three panels. But hey, if people are paying actual money for the privilege of reading this thing, then the least I can do is actually draw all of it myself, right?

One of these days I'm gonna draw an entire comic series about Megaweapon getting beat up. There won't even be any jokes. Just Megaweapon getting harmed over and over again. This will make me happy.
...oh, and let's not forget orangutans totally being about to rape underage girls, THAT'S totally fine for television too. More so than a teenager smoking, anyway (and I don't even LIKE smoking, I just think that's really ridiculous)

Remember when I apologized for how I can't draw JJBA muscles? Apparently I need to amend that statement to include faces. I mean, let's face it: I can't just do a vague caricature like I usually do in these situations. Hirohiko Araki's art style is just too distinctive, I gotta at least TRY to do it straight... with disastrous results.
But yeah, comic me is in no position to discuss "realistic" anything.

It's a bit unsettling how little difference there is between writing a bad boss and writing a grumpy five year old.

As I said before, I have no idea what working on the set of a major motion picture is like, nor have I ever worked in a celebrity's fan club... but you know what? I've worked in a restaurant, and this is definitely how THAT works. "Hey new kid, I don't like this job. It's your job now!"
Two quick things before someone nitpicks this one to death: First, I think this whole complaint is the result of the English translation of the title. I'm absolutely not fluent in Japanese, but I have a vague recollection of hearing that "Hataraku Maou-sama!" doesn't specifically refer to a part-time employee, and would still be accurate even after he got promoted. I usually try to avoid drawing any comics until after I've had a chance to sit down and watch an anime all the way through, but I didn't feel the least bit bad about going ahead and drawing this one right away. Dad Jokes work pretty much the same regardless of context.

I have never been on the set of a major motion picture, but I HAVE been to a bunch of anime conventions and this is pretty much how they all work. The more people you have working on a thing, the less any of those people know about how that thing is supposed to run.

So, I think the pile of stuff I've put on Patreon has finally started to get big enough that simply scrolling through the Creator Posts isn't convenient anymore. I'm surprised I got recognized in this get up as much as I did. That's not to say it happened a lot, just that it happened at ALL.
By the way, this is another one of those comics where I STARTED to do a bunch of caricatures of real people, then gave up halfway through. So, apologies to anyone who was at the table Saturday night and wonders why I left them out. Ya'll are here... if you use your imagination.
The fun part about cosplaying from MST3k is always how excited MSTies get when they see it... but it's usually older people. Like, the Dad who's just there to keep an eye on his kids and is happy to finally see a costume he recognizes. It's a lot more unusual for it to be the kids who are the excited ones. And these kids had some major bragging rights, too. I never got around to seeing Cinematic Titanic live...
On a rational level, I know perfectly well that the way a lobby looks at 9am is different from what it will look like by lunchtime. But it's still really weird to head down to the underbelly of the hotel in the morning before anyone's around, then not come back up until the place is packed.

As I've mentioned on numerous occasions, I miss very little about living in Washington DC. But man, it's a great place to have the thought "I feel like taking a walk".
