Dialed in beyond sexiness indeed. Pretty CF ABS is amazing and love just how much lighter this is than PETG. With a HDT of around 108-110C it's 20C better than PETG so even better at not warping in those high heat situations.

I was waiting for the nylon to dry so I ran some glow and the same Pretty CF PETG profile we know works just as awesomely with Glow PETG. This happens to be blue glowing PETG from Atomic. Flawless victory!

My first go at printing the new CF Nylon from Atomic. No stringing on my first try and the parts look great. What’s awesome about this material is the heat distortion temp of 170C!!!!!
It has a lot more CF in it so it’s going to be tough to make sharp clean parts but it’ll help keep it from warping and will make it super stiff. I hear they may rework the amount of CF to make it a little cleaner to print but so far it’s doing amazing!!!

Shout out to Vedran for the amazing John McClane model. ABS handled it perfectly. I've tested this with numerous printed parts and now a sexy model and it's definitely pretty. One note is that I have a hardened nozzle on my MK3 I'm testing on as it's the one in my enclosure. You can get away with possibly 5C cooler in print temp. Also I do recommend an enclosure because not only does it cut down on the smell but you need to have about 30C to keep the warping down and stop the bridging from be...

All I needed was a box to keep the warm air in and the cold air out. Now I’m printing ABS like a champ!!!
Will share goodness once I make it through a ton more prints.
Bridging is working!!!!!!

I’ve never had good luck with magigoo but I’m rating high temp materials and the textured bed definitely has some mortal enemies. Nylon, ABS to some extent, and Polycarbonate.
So far this has been more magical than anything is magic in its name. Grips like crazy. I’ll share some videos once I print a few more goodies.

If you didn't catch the live stream with Vedran, Fotis, Joel, and myself you missed one of the best streams on 2019. Not only was it hilarious BUT the Pocketeer was born and thanks to Vedran it's a printable reality! Check it out and print it! Yes... it's me as a mock Rocketeer with a hotend as my jetpack. lol.

So I’ve been printing away on and off for many hours testing and checking print quality and testing some more.
Basically do linear rails improve print quality??
No.
In the slightest yes. But overall I might get a speed improvement of 10% before seeing the same artifacting. Bed slingers with rails on the Y and rods on the X really aren’t going to enhance much because when you speed up a print the X axis has to suffer and we can’t force speed changes t...

I've tested and tested and tested. I'm bored of testing and I still need to test a stock e3dV6 with their stock cooler but need to make a firmware and load it onto a random board to test because the prusa Einsy has 5V fan output only and I need 12/24V...
Stock Prusa R5 Extruder body used on all tests and modified to fit each hotend correctly. Ambient temperature was always 17C. All hotends minus Phaetus and Mosquito had 5 separate tests while those two had 4 tests each these are the ave...

I've got this dialed in really well with no warping and great layer adhesion. Feel free to try it out and make sure you're printing in a warm area. If it's too cold it'll warp for sure.
This is working on a stock prusa or bear. Will eventually get a geared extruder version working.
Please make sure you have a hardened nozzle. I’m using a Slice Vanadium but anything will work better than brass or copper.
The CF ABS is good to about 108C before it begins to distort so for ...

I got the enclosure all working so I decided to test out this roll of CF ABS from Atomic Filaments that I have had sitting since summer.
Wow. No warping. Stuck well to the textured bed. Layering is beautiful. Less sticking to the nozzle vs the CF PETG. Bridges are great. Print quality is phenomenal.
I’m going to redo the printer in the enclosure and update it with these parts. I’m also going to add this as the fan duct material once I get back to printing CF for h...

Hey sexy humans. I have initial results and they are quite interesting.
First the method.
1. Digital thermocouple
2. A bunch of hotends
3. A spare einsy, PSU, and screen
4. E3d 40W 24V heater cartridge
5. E3d’s fancy newly optimized thermistor
6. A frame to hook everything up to because heat rises so hand holding or laying the hotends in their side would distort the results.
7. Similar Extruder designs
8. A noctua and sun...

Okay. I have a really nice thermocouple, a stock einsy board. Same thermistor and heater cartridge. A Noctua fan and a sunon fan. Oh... and a handful of different hotends including the Copperhead beta unit that’s on kick starter right now. I’m compiling it all and I’ll give everyone the answers here first!!!! Stay tuned for geeky nerd stuff.

Well I had to do a couple things my way. Mostly the Vecko X axis but everything else is stock and sexy. Welcome to my carbon stealth prusa.
Ended up perfectly perpendicular and now I’m finishing up the first layer calibration.

I will stream this and I will also be giving one away to a lucky YouTube subscriber so make sure you’re subbed to my channel for a chance to get one of these yourself.

Grabbed my mosquito BMG MK3s and swapped all the old parts for some sexy CF PETG stock parts. Got to have a stock machine to compare against. Printing the last few parts and I should have this back to normal soon enough. After this is back I can work on the BMG Bear MK3s. The list is getting shorter!

Shout out to Jason from LDO who made this possible. He was able to get one of the new Phaetus Dragin hotends sent to me for testing. It actually looks really good.
So what’s cool about it? The mosquito style heatbreak. Basically far better cooling but it’s actually the exact size of the e3dv6 for a 1:1 swap. It also has the block mounted to the heatsink so no more twisting of the block hit like the mosquito. I’ll have to do thermal tests to see how well it works but it’s promis...

The fight against community mods in prusa printers has finally come from Prusa.
I’ve known about this coming feature for some time and it’s one of my reasons for distancing myself from Prusa as I feel the community has done so much to improve their products. The mini wouldn’t have the cooler motors, geared extruder, the discovery of the over heating stock firmware from Prusa for the MK3, and so on wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the community.
Why is Prusa doi...

I just backed this hotend. The word is that it’s a true swap for the e3dv6 on a prusa so I have to give it a try. Update: I’ve chatted with the guys at slice and it will require new printed part or two but it’ll be a direct swap but with far better thermals. The slice team is doing crazy cool things and this may be another crazy awesome thing like the mosquito but cheaper.
I backed the $50 option as it has everything I need so let’s see this goes.

The ole Meanwell LRS-350-24 is a great replacement for the stock PSU if you’re looking for one. It’s smaller and on the bear frame there is a great case print that puts the power connector to the back of the frame which I love.

Between misumi, printed solid, and Amazon I should have all the final pieces to finish the purple bear. I decided to not scrap a prusa to make this bear. My mosquito MK3s will be converted back to a stock prusa MK3s for filament profiles and testing the new firmware prusa releases.
Purple bear will have a stock bear extruder just the rails on the y axis will be linear rails vs rods. This will give me the best chance at test prints and such. I have a taller bear frame I haven’t used y...
