I believe many know I have a custom delta I've been working on based on the Anycubic Kossel Linear plus but with duet and some other additions. My question to everyone here is I know I want to make it taller but HOW much taller?
Extrusion is cheap but the linear rail is the issue and I know minimum I want to move the Z to at least 500mm which would be a 600mm linear rail or so.
I can get a 650mm linear rail and a 1000mm linear rail for about the same price times 3 sinc...

It's come to my attention from the Patreon team that all giveaways that are only for patrons are bad and break their TOS. I had to delete the Nozzle post and make sure I don't give patrons prizes that EVERYBODY doesn't get.
So moving forward any time I'd like to give something away I have to have it open to anyone so it's not "pay to play".
My support person Hunter was very nice and helped me come up with ideas and such which all aren't as fun but I have to stic...

Slowly the build has begun.
I've built the frame and some of the printed parts are attached and ready for their necessary components. I'll do a live stream with the fancy components being installed once they all arrive which should be tomorrow besides a Slice thermistor which I'll add later to this project.
Big shout out to Chris Riley from Chris's Basement, different basement than my own, for helping me with the firmware end of the project. Without that dude I'd be on older Mar...

Everyone wanted the custom Bear so the custom Bear you get!!!!
I'm going a little crazy here so here goes:

These gorgeous custom LDO bear extrusions with the anodized black hardware. Should be a gorgeous frame for this printer.

Einsy Retro with my special blend custom firmware. It's time ...

If you haven't heard I've nearly completed a vanilla Marlin firmware for the Einsy retro board. Why? It's the better board.
I'd like to come up with a build name. As you can see over picked X which is actually a thing. There was a MK2x that was a bunch of upgrades and what not to the Mk2s.
What I'm making here is a firmware to help users with the mk2.5 and MK2s move into silent stepping with as little work as possible.
The einsy retro has the same capability as the standa...

You may have noticed that I haven't updated much on this. Well... I've run into some issues.
I tried twenty different settings tweaks for bridgings abs nothing helped. I dug further and realized Slic3r doesn't consider what I feel is a bridge yet it isn't detected as one. ಠ╭╮ಠ
All those changes for nothing. This means I'll need an enclosure which makes me a sad panda. I'll make a ghetto rigged version and see if it helps so hopefully I have a cardboard box big enough to s...

In my haste thinking I've learned all the science behind setting up the Maestro I only crashed the nozzle into the bed twice with enough force to wreck the print surface in a decent sized area.
1. You will make costly mistakes even with decent reading.
2. Amazon has my new sheet and will be here Saturday!
All I can say is playing in unfamiliar territory is teaching me a lot of cool things. I've become proficient in properly terminating cables like these:

I decided to boost my printing ability and add one of those Enders everyone talks about. I decided I'd go rogue and get the Ender 5 since I can do more with it.
First is a light surgery consisting of a Duet Maestro board, a bl touch, and a bondtech BMG extruder. I had two of those just sitting in the basement so it was easy enough to make happen.

I did calibrate the stock printer and dial...

First CF PETG orders are shipping out tomorrow.
ABS is a butt and it looks like I'll need an enclosure to get the bridging I want.
Ender 5 has so many issues I wish I could walk in with it to creality's office and make them fix it.
Sl1 unboxing Livestream tomorrow.
I'm going to get better at making sure the Livestream times are correct before hitting save.
I need more printers. 🤣🤣
Thank you everyone who stopped by the stream last night and apprec...

The cube was fine but not perfect. This time I decided to print some fan shrouds since they will help me dial in the settings a bit more.
Good news:
1. It sticks! In fact I have to flex the PEI to get the prints to pop off so that's great.
2. Layer adhesion is great. Not brittle at all but I'm getting used to the fact ABS has less flex that PETG.
3. Functionally the profile is working without an enclosure.
4. No stringing whatsoever.
Bad news:

My first ever abs print. I setup a very generic profile specifically for this Atomic ABS and hit print. It's looking good so far but nothing too difficult.
Initial observations.
1. It's sticking to the pei. I did clean it with acetone first to give it a good chance to work.
2. Smell isn't bad. It's noticeable but not bad at all.
3. Layers look to be printing fine. Going to do the break in my hand test to see how good or bad adhesion is.
4. No warping! Yet 😅

Hello!!!
I've maxed out my 10 orders and won't be taking any more unless I beef up my production which I will asap. More printers are needed and I have an excuse to do so. 🤓
On a other note I was waiting for my CF petg to arrive from Atomic as I'm down to one spool and ran a test of my CF profile with 3dxtech CarbonX petg and it worked great. Extrusion multiplier needs to come down but it's printing great.
I'll keep everyone updated on the new printer additions. I may hav...

Someone named Ian reminded me that I should totally talk about this. Thank you for the reminder!
My ABS comes in tomorrow so this is an opportune time to go over what my brain does before I even start.
1. Read. I try and gather some preliminary info on the base material. Since this is ABS I did a quick Google search and found a couple interesting articles.

I've finished cost calculations and have setup my invoicing sysyem. Better yet I've cleaned up the profile even more and the parts are looking 15% better.
***added the profile to download for anyone here to use. It's beefed up specifically for printer parts and boy are they sturdy and pretty***
I do have one change and that's the Bear 2.0 parts which I've mathed and found they take 30% more filament and 14 extra hours to print compared to the stock MK3s prints. I've decided to bum...

I have 3 project printers I want to finish but haven't. Help me!
1. Tall bear. I have a custom 250Z Bear I had custom made. It would be a MK2.5.
2. Custom Bear running einsy retro with custom Marlin firmware. This would help humans who want a way better board than the einsy. Why? Runs 12/24v to the fans. No more silly 5V fans. Marlin also has linear advance 1.5, S curve acceleration, better mesh leveling, mesh fade, and other near features we prusa users don't get to play wi...

No joke. I bought a non Prusa while at MRRF. It's pretty awesome. Shout out to Barry from RC-CNC who made this beast!
ABS is ordered and flex pla is sitting next to the dryer so I can mess with that.
I'll be posting test profiles for anyone who wants to follow along.
Wednesday will be live stream day with my experience at MRRF. Busy busy busy!!!!

You may be wondering what happened to the Slic3r videos. Well I found a nasty bug and it's preventing me from accomplishing a few things like my modifier mesh videos. I need the resizing to be stable for me easy to follow example but sadly there are a few random bugs squashing my hopes and dreams.
I have recored a few videos and just need to do the minor editing I do so I can post them but need these to be finished first before I continue too far.

A lot of people have been asking if they can buy CF PETG parts from me and I've done a couple extra sets and have decided to try it for now. I have NO clue what to charge but I have plenty of printers with hardened nozzles and access to plenty of Atomic CF PETG at the moment and have a general idea of my costs. Basically 3-4 days straight of printing, plus about 40% of a $50 spool of filament, a bit of part cleanup and then a dry fit for the rods to make sure they don't need any extra care.

I'm trying to get a few things ready before MRRF and realized I wanted to add a few things to my printer but am really low of the color of filament I used but remembered I had a filament that was similar. Yeah no... it's not close, but I have a profile to test if anyone wants it.
I have to admit... Colorfabb Ngen Lux Metallic Grey looks gross but I do like some of their regular Ngen colors. The pictures of the stuff look way better than the product sadly. My loss is everyones gain thou...

Sadly I'm also sick so the enjoyment didn't hit me right away. I'm hoping I can get the Majority of this cold out of my system so tomorrow can be Slic3r video recording day but if I'm still coughing it may not get here till Sunday.
Back to a nap.

I went 4/4 after my initial mistakes so I'm starting to slice my own models to start my mastery of Slic3r PE and it's SLA capabilities.
My first prints are for my toymaker buddy Peter who is the man behind the bootleg action figure scene. This is his M.U.S.C.L.E. figure variant of Draco Knuckleduster.
Hopefully this goes well so he can get to molding and casting hundreds of copies for his site.

Setup of the SL1 is a breeze with photo and video guided help right the screen but that doesn't mean my road hasn't hit a few potholes.
I started with the opaque orange resin which in resin land opaque resins tend to have a slightly longer exposure time per layer and with my basement being 16C that makes printing a little tricky.
Why? Resin has an optimal print temp in the 20C range. Below that and exposure time needs to be increased to compensate. This tem...
