Only a few months ago we were mid summer, cooling off on hot days after work by taking a dip in the lake. Jocassee is truly a special place and Rhett and I can't wait to be back there. Right now, we are settled in at a family member's place, recuperating from the loss of our home. We are on the right track though, and will hopefully find a new place to call home. Thank you for being here and supporting us through this time.

Unfortunately due to hurricane Helene, I do not think we will be getting to go to the parkway any time soon. But here we can enjoy some photos from one of our last summer trips up that way. <3 I have many more photos of me to share captured by Rhett of our favorite little piece of heaven in Western North Carolina.

I hope you enjoy this last section of portraits I created with Amber the last time she came and visited Rhett and I on her own. We shot these up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We hope to see her again soon. <3 I wanted to make this set a public set because they are just so innocent and fun. Amber really enjoys posing with nature, especially something she can get down and eye level with! You'll want to stick around though... she also seems to enjoy stepping out of her clothes every now and then...

Off to a new start… I guess?

Early Friday morning, September 27, 2024, Rhett and I had gotten up to take a look at the storm, Helena, brewing outside in upstate SC. We laid down in the bed and decided we probably weren’t going back to sleep and lifted the blind to watch the weather. After a few minutes of watching, the tops of the trees started swaying like grass on the beach and we decided we did not feel safe. This was a good day. We didn't know what we would end up doing, but we had a fun time regardless. This was the first time we had ever tried this lighting technique with the canoe so it was all an experiment. As the sun sank and the sky turned extra blue with the mountains and water, it was a wonderful idea of Rhett's to incorporate this light inside the boat.
