Warwick Farm GT Trophy 1969 - Lotus 23C #20

Glyn Scott was one of the more beloved racing drivers from Australia, who sadly did not live to old age - passing away in July 1970 in a dramatic accident.

He was a well respected racing driver as well as a business owner in sports cars. His almost trademarked blue racing cars were instantly recognizable to be Scott's machines. Among the final sports cars he raced was this blue Lotus 23.

Australian Tourist Trophy Longford 1960 - Jaguar D-Type #87

For VELO's '56 Jaguar D-Type (manual install may be necessary)

While doing some work for Machina's massive ACA 50's sports cars pack, I made this amazing late 50's/early 60's Jaguar D-Type livery.

With over 60 examples built, the D-Type won races all over the world. Some event went down under and raced at Bathurst, Longford ect. This example was driven in March 1960 at Longford for the Australian Tourist Trophy race by Frank Matich.

Goodwood Tourist Trophy GT Race 1964 - Lotus Elan 26R #59

I love the Elan. Such a gorgeous small nimble machine, lots of grip, lots of fun. I saw this photo come around online last April/May, so I put it together for my, then still in the works, Lotus Elan Historical Skinpack. My focus has since shifted elsewhere though.

This car is a special one, being Carroll Shelby's last raced car before permanently stepping over to being a constructor at his legendary company. I think I made this for what would've been his 100th birthday.

Representing his entry at the Grand Prix Riverside 200 Miles 1960, where he finished 5th overall. His official last entry was at Laguna Seca not long after.

ARRC Thompson Speedway 1966 - Shelby GT350R #31

For the GTC Shelby GT350R.

A livery omitted from the historical skinpack from last week. This one is too cool to be buried in there so early.

The story goes; Mark Donohue had a dealer sponsored GT350R for a few races in 1966. He however wanted to be sponsored as a West Coast Shelby driver directly. After this was refused, he resprayed the GT350 in opposite colours in protest. Shelby maintained that all their GT350's should be white/blue striped for brand recognition.

The liveries of WSC60's Matra M630 BRM

More than just another mod for AC!

This car, one of the prettiest of the French Matra lineup, has been built from the ground up with a brand new 3D model just for the WSC mod, accurate and raceable physics and 7 historical liveries.

Why only 7? You'd be amazed at how bad the French are at archiving their old racing events aside from maybe the Paris 1000km races. These 7 liveries are the ones I have been able to visually confirm...

Silverstone Martini International Trophy 1968 - Lotus Cortina #31

For the TCL Lotus Cortina. Previously included in the TCL Cortina skinpack.

Tony Dean may be known best for his exploits in the Porsche 908/2 at the Can-Am series, but before he drove many, many different sports and touring cars. Among his list of worn out racing cars is this Lotus Cortina.

He drove this car in the 1968 BSCC season, as one of the few still racing this legendary saloon car. By this year, Alan Mann's Ford Escorts and the big Ford Falcons truly dominated the BSCC....

Monza 1000km 1965 - Ferrari 250 GTO-64 #42

For the GTC Ferrari 250 GTO S2.

Bet you didn't have this one!! Which is understandable, with the linked screencap being the only photo of the car I've found.

It was driven by Vincenzo Nember and Marino Bonomi to 11th overall and 1st in GT+3.0.

Mainly made this to showcase my custom numbers for these Monza races :P

Oulton Park Gold Cup BSCC 1966 - Ford Mustang #93

For the TCL Ford Mustang 289.

While otherwise just an ordinary livery, this one features brand new deep dish steelies - as so many early Mustang's had in races!

Bergrennen Sierre Montana-Crans 1968 - Porsche 906 #233

For the WSC60s Porsche 906E.

While Switzerland banned circuit racing after the infamous 1955 Le Mans tragedy, smaller scale motorsports events were somehow still allowed, mainly hillclimb events, known locally as bergrennen.

The liveries of WSC60's Ferrari Dino 206S

The mini 330 P4 as I tend to call it, the Ferrari Dino 206S featured in the upcoming WSC60s update is one strong competitor for the 2L class.

Beautifully modelled in both spyder and berlinetta form, the Dino will undoubtedly become another fan favourite in the pack. So far, a lot of liveries have been put together for the car, almost all of them Ferrari red of course.

SCCA Regionals Wilmot 1965 - Shelby GT350R #5

For the GTC Shelby GT350R.

Bit of a change of pace between crunching on the WSC60s pack with a GT350R, an iconic example raced by Dick Jordan from 1965 until the early 70s in SCCA meetings.

The car frequently won regional meetings, also appearing in national races. The iconic maple leaf on the sides and hood has been faithfully redrawn from original photographs.

Daytona 24h 1968 - Chevrolet Corvette C2 #31

For the ACL GTC Corvette.

One of the more famous C2 racers, ran in the Sunray DX Oil Company colours alongside two C3's. These 3 Corvettes all finished the 24 hours of Daytona in 1968, with this C2 finishing the highest of the bunch; 10th overall, 1st in class.

Japanese Grand Prix 1968 - Porsche 906 #29

I forgot about this livery entirely, and it missed the original WSC 60s release pack compiling soooo here it is instead.

Driven by Taki Racing Team rookie Hiroshi Katahira to a respectable 7th place. This is chassis 906-120, the most successful Porsche 906 with the most podiums/wins to it's name.

Not long after this race, 906-120 was sold to Tudor Racing Team. They won many races, including the famed Suzuka 1000km in 1969.

South African Grand Prix 1968 - Brabham BT20 Repco #17

The very first livery in F1 to be painted in the colours of the primary sponsor.

Passionately recreated for the Brabham BT20 Repco 620 3.0 V8 mod by Legion, custom numbers, decals and stripes. Also "fixed" the steering wheel texture.

Early access ultra-beta test: Porsche 904/4

Porsche 904/4 Carrera GTS
My first "physics" mod; I rebuilt the original flat 4 engine from the 904 in Automation, then put it into the 904/8 mod of Legion. Performance is actually quite good, and in this state already a very fun car to drive against other 60s GT's.

1963-1965 model with Type 587/3 B4 flat 4 engine.

Daytona 24h 1969 - Porsche 906 #62

One of the cooler looking 906's from the late 60s, as it hadn't been excessively modified.

Owned by Rainer Brezinka, raced by him and two other Canadian racing car drivers. They qualified 24th and managed to finish the race in 20th, 119 laps behind the winning Penske T70.

This livery has actual duct tape texturing applied to the light's edges!!

SCCA Nationals Virginia 1966 - Porsche 904 #26

For the mod: Legion Porsche 904/8 Carrera GTS (NOT the model featured in ACL GTC)

Sam Posey is one of many legendary American sports car drivers from the 60s, so there's always many options to pick for 'tribute' liveries. So I picked this great looking 904.

Sadly the model has a mapping error where the top of the roof also paints the engine deck, but it's only a minor detail. I might try and develop a 904/6 data replacement with the Engine Crane mod for AC, which will be upload...

Daytona 24h 1969 - Pontiac Firebird TA #26

For the mod: ACL TA Legends '68 Firebird.

The often forgotten 3rd place overall finisher of the 1969 Daytona 24h.

In the late 60s, both Daytona and Sebring's endurance races featured Trans-Am cars competing in the main events, often leading to hilarious photos of sophisticated small European sports cars being bullied by giant American steel titans.

Japan Grand Prix 1963 - Lotus 23B #3/#5

As promised, the final 2 Japanese Grand Prix Lotus 23's.

Had these ready to go for a while but completely forgot about them. That was until I saw a less than accurate attempt at one of them in another skinpack.

Car 3 was driven by Michael Knight, car 5 was driven by Arthur Owen. On both races, the 3 Lotus 23's finished 1-2-3 in the "A-race" for sportscars. These were the first sportscar races held in post war Japan.
