Those of you familiar with your obscure Gundam lore will notice that Cornwell J. Governan, the Anaheim CEO, is a throwback to the old Anaheim Journal magazine published in 2004 (which also makes an appearance in this issue!). Interesting justifications for the formation of the merc group, I guess. Still feels a bit sus given that it's the CEO forming it. Wonder if we'll have Nina tied to it...

A while back, I tackled the epilogue comic from the August 2023 issue of Gundam Ace. Well, I went back and tweaked what I had since I translated the epilogue from the artbook that came out in 2015. So, here's a new version of the comic coupled with the novel finale. Sumizawa's threat of more storylines in his afterword from the book is hilarious (he says no, he won't, but he probably will).

Phew! Sorry if it seems like I'm not being active enough this month, but I figured that doing full volume drops on backlogged titles instead of chapters makes more sense (plus we have the Ace dump coming up next week anyway). And with that, the series is complete. I, uh, don't know how to feel now. It was a long series, but it also didn't feel that long at all. I'm kinda sad it's done. I don't know if my efforts helped or hindered appreciation for the series, but with everything out there now, here's to hoping new fans can finally give it a go. There are too many new mobile suits in this last volume, though! And not even any artwork to show for it.

This has spent far too long languishing in Photoshop hell, so hopefully I can finally get to at least one volume a month moving forward. Since the Climax UC manga is getting a new edition at the end of November, Gundam Ace elected to provide a snippet of the original serial (with tweaked artwork) as a special chapter. Technically, this is the bulk of chapter five from the first volume, but shows a bit of how Stein would later be converted to a better cause and why he hates the Oldsmobile so very much.

Okay, this took a wee bit longer to wrap up than I would've liked, but here we are! Two folks wanted to see this series tackled, so I was happy to oblige. I'm going into this a bit blind because I haven't actually played the game, but I do know that the manga plays out differently. I opted to follow the English names from the game book, so if you've seen alternative names for Edward and Doris elsewhere, that's why. Plus, labeling Edward Lee as just a "driver" doesn't fit his additional duties...

Working on wrapping up the last of the Mechanics & World book to post here between projects, but here's a bit more about the extensive CG process behind the film, which should hopefully start to frame things a bit better for folks in terms of scale Sunrise was going for. Okay, it's been too long for this (where does time go), so here's the fourth of five volumes currently out for this series. While I'd like to continue doing this every other month, I found out that Terada actually goes back and adds a hell of a lot of details in the compilation versus the serialization (so apologies if the full experience isn't in the previous chapters). Probably not something anyone would find interesting, but recent discourse on Fukui kinda made me want to wrap up an essential portion of the book I've been working on. The remaining portions certainly aren't a priority to finish (they'll probably drop next year), but it's interesting to see how some of his titles and eventual drive to want to do a comedy piece originally led him to pitch a Gundam gag idea to Gundam Ace (though not mentioned in this book, but that factoid came later). A tad bit delayed getting this out before September closed out so I'm sorry about that. It was hell going back and correcting old names in this one, but I think I hammered them all out. Two volumes left and that's a wrap! I should be getting back to the Duo novella this month, so stay tuned for more of that.
