Raiko awoke to the sound of raised voices outside the earthen dome that herself and the Sil’marans were using as their home. She usually slept in the workshop, but that wasn’t a great look for the leader to be drooling on her worktable every night.

It felt like they battled for an eternity. Whenever Sam gained even the slightest foothold, the Empress unleashed more of her power. It was truly humbling and awe-inspiring to see the layers of her strength peel away one by one to reveal power beyond anything Sam could imagine.

Sam trained the Empire’s forms without end, striving to move his bulky body and aura as one.

A copper-tinged aura flickered fitfully around the chubby cat that was Komachi. It guttered, as if the energy was starved of fuel, and went completely out before Komachi could muster it again.

Rolling waves of meager pressure emanated from Sam’s form as sweat beaded and rolled down his body, across his sculpted arms, and down his back.
At the Empress’ urging, he had removed his armor.
Her reasoning, suspect though it was in his opinion, was that his armor was already saturated with his mana and would impede his aura’s progression.

Though the battle was hard fought, the Sil’marans were gracious and welcoming hosts. At least, Raiko hoped so. The effort was there.

It didn’t take long for the battle to turn in full. Even without Raiko’s help, the monsters acted like puppets with their strings cut. They ran around aimlessly, without direction or purpose, often attacking each other rather than any people.
As tired and beleaguered as Kale and his people were, they managed to turn the battle into a full rout. They had won. Which meant that Kale knew precisely who had taken down that ogre.

The lines of battle were shifting. Fighters, Mages, and Scouts were forming up behind the new arrivals from the giant Skyshard that had hooked theirs. Kale could only glimpse their Jobs from the monster slaying Shardscript that rolled past his vision. They killed so fast.

So we've finally crossed through the mid-point of the year. Sohmer and I have had a lot of laughs, more than our fair share of tears, and mostly just kept our nose to the grindstone to keep everything on schedule.

Raiko woke to the sounds of warfare, already riding a [Source Chain] that was launching into another Skyshard.
Shocked from where she woke up, she nearly lost her grip, then hastily tapped into the aid of [Glyph: Surgewalk]. The spell bolstered Agility, Dexterity and Vigor, while blunting some of the natural effects of gravity.
