I'm doing a rapid fire poll to see who is paying attention lol. Okay, actually it's to see what kind of mischief Ayla is going to get up to in an x-rated pinup. Animations for the game are also going to be inspired by these pinups, which will act sort of like the concept art. I also intend to branch these out beyond the boundaries of Cretaceous Seas if they catch enough interest, but for now I'm staying on brand.

The cave system concept art is all wrapped up and is being translated into finished assets for the level design. This new map layout is more than four times of the size of the map in the earlier builds. The red rectangle in the second image depicts the map as it existed in the last release.

This is the kind of setup I use to see how the character design is looking in-game. This isn't the spot where these plant creatures will be situation but it still helps figure out what I want to do with the rest of their design. For this one, I'm thinking about using some thorny brambles all around the base that double as obstacles (and maybe snares).

The next new enemy being introduced (and the last big one for the first level) is the first plant creature. The animation used here was the first one I've ever done that was drafted by someone else, one of the guys that also works on the comics. That created some interesting challenges because I still had to time the action and correct the original frames quite a bit, plus extending the sequence. It was fun working from someone else's keyframes for the base animation and I'll be open to doing...

One of the things I've been working towards for a while is getting some sex scenes into the game. I'm looking at dialogue cut scenes as the best approach, which gives a chance to have optional interactions (sexy time) and also to reveal parts of the story that are otherwise very difficult to convey.

- First draft of the snake is in place for testing, but the animation is currently incomplete. This was dropped in for testing and to figure out what other attacks/animations we want to include for the snake.

The first patch is ready! Besides what's in the patch notes, we've all been putting in extra time with discussions on how to solidify the game's core gameplay loops, design principles, and overall feel. The approach of gameplay first and vore second is going to make it a better game in the long run.

There's still some subtlety that needs to be added in here and there (like better follow-through on both Ayla's head and the snake's neck after they hit the ground, tpo a better sense of weight), but it's good enough to start integrating it into the alpha for coding and testing. The rest of the clip, and a few small tweaks to the movement, will be coming next.

Today I went back and finished up the poses and approximate timing for a climbing action I drafted a few months ago. It was something I had started during a livestream and the original version was much slower, still leaning heavily on the kinds of timing you'd want in traditional animation, but not the game context. I've tried to thread the needle here, with a climb that's snappy and responsive, but still shows a sense of weight.

The last poll pretty clearly showed that even as rough draft animations, what you guys really want to see is MORE VORE monsters. :) Not exactly surprising results, admittedly, but it was good to have the feedback.
Now you get to pick the details - the next animation we're bringing into Cretaceous Seas?
All of these options are coming in time, this is just a matter of what gets made and integrated next.

For the next few days I'll be plucking away on cleaning up the game animations. A lot of them are still REALLY rough placeholders so this step will dramatically increase the polish of the game's look.

Okay, here we go! The production time for this issue ran WAY late but it's finally done!
Even though issue #12 is a standalone comic, not part of the greater story, I wanted to showcase some concepts intended for the game development (both in enemy characters and in ones). In other words, zombie dinosaurs and a necromancer babe! Enjoy. :)

Hey everybody! This morning I sent out some surveys asking for the addresses of anyone getting the only physical reward with the Kickstarter campaign - the sticker! Here is the actual design. The sticker is being printed at 3x3 inches (7.62cm x 7.62cm), and is definitely NSFW.
