This is based on Aventurine and Ratio's meeting in the Penacony quest! To me, their confrontation has been mind opening on the possibilities of this ship and instantly gave me the inspiration for this comicβπ I hope you'll enjoy!!
It was them talking about trust, Ratio apologizing and then Aven disclosing what he had previously refused to... I thought it was hatefuck but after that I was like "wait... there's MORE" - that "more" is probably uncountable layer...

These colors have been challenging on skin! I wanted the violet of the sky to color their bodies, but I later realized the reasoning was wrong: the sky went from light blue to violet because of the dusk's orange lights coloring it. Similarly, Zhongli and Xiao's bodies had to be affected primarily by the orange light and only in the reflection by the violet of the sky!!
Luckily I managed to adjust the color shifting the skintone towards orange with the Color Balance Adjustment! (
The little Yaksha was tamed by the hungry dragon and will have to endure until the end of his rut... (I wish that was me π¦)
It's always fun to bring back ZhongXiao and imagine how the Yaksha has been serving his Lord over the years...βπ

Every year for Lantern Rite I go back to my origins and draw ZhongXiao π
They've been one of the very first ships I drew from the game!! It later evolved to ZhongChiXiao, which turned into ZhongChi/Tartali and then became ZhongChizhu, and eventually... Zhongzhu won π
Finally back to something Genshin! I needed something to work on together with the Aventio comic not to burn out on itβ

PART 4 of the "saga" of Wrio/Neuvi as monster boyfriends slowly gaining each other's trust and falling in love more and more π

A fun first exploration with these two heheh ππ¦
I still have to catch up with a lot of the quests in which these characters appear, but for now I settled on needy, demanding Ratio and little devil Aventurine complying to his needs while having some extra fun with him~ just to make sure Ratio's seriousness falls and he gets to see him all flustered and overwhelmed hehe π
Their dynamic is also fun because it's a similar to Sampard but it has a different flavor with them ...
For this illustration, I went back to the process I experimented from August to October, with some implementations - the differences between this (A) and my usual coloring process (B) are that:
In (B), I use Multiply layers for shadows, a Linear Dodge (Add) layer for highlights, and many additional layers of adjustments to set the colors and atmosphere. Then, I paint over everything, polishing and rendering for hours!
