Finland has a beverage can recycling system where you can return your empty cans and bottles to the store for a little bit of money - 10 cents for smallest cans and bottles, 40 cents for the biggest ones. I didn't take a picture of our several months' hoard, but I did take one of the receit. Yes, that's 105 euros.

We sometimes spend time together by just chilling next to each other browsing memes on our phones. It's a mutual activity that we are doing together, because whenever one of us finds something that the other one would appreciate, we show them to each other. And I do that question thing a lot - asking him "hey what's the strangest tattoo/biggest cat/most dangerous flight of stairs you've seen today?", before showing him something that's definitely going to be the one for today.

It was my 30th birthday yesterday! And if you're wondering whether the kit was for doing DIY homemade soaps, or whether the soap kit itself was put together at home by my partner's parents, the answer is both! And along with all the other tools and materials, they included two fox-shaped molds that are just too precious. Also the adorable birthday card. ;_;

We've been friends with the lady living next door from us for about as long as we've lived in this apartment - we're in the habit of helping her around when she asks and occasionally visiting just to chat. It's a convenient system, really, since we're literally living right side-by-side. She's a wonderful lady who has lived an interesting life - we haven't asked how old she is since that would not be polite, but she does have a three-year-old great-granddaughter!

My boyfriend prefers his bananas spotless (literally) - in that exact moment of ripeness when they're fully yellow but haven't started getting spots yet. I have also found out that I love baking banana bread. Turns out that pistachios and peanuts work great for it, and grinding the nuts by hand with a stone mortar is extremely satisfying.
