Assorted art dump!

I've been saving up other, unrelated non-comic art for a while now, and thought I'd post them all at once! Hopefully there are no repeats of previous ones, I apparently posted the latest art dump in april, and these are all ones that I've made since then.

Foraging!

It's mushroom season! We did get a huge hoard this time (mushroom knife for scale!), and this time I managed to get a picture of the curved-up ghost tree that we saw the last time!

Computer construction

He did eventually figure out what the problem was. I can't recall what the exact issue was, because his detailed explanation of it was beyond my comprehension. I have the combined tech skills of an average boomer and an unusually literate chimpanzee.

I've grown to love ridiculously contrived, rhyming rule of thumb rules. The silliness makes them easier to remember.

Pot rust

Based on a real incident. We managed to scrape the rust off and re-treat the pot so no real harm was done! I suppose I should have known, in theory, that you can't just forget a cast iron dutch oven into the sink like regular dishware, but it honestly didn't cross my mind that they need special treatment. And my partner didn't think to warn or remind me, because it hadn't even crossed his mind that I wouldn't know. I just live my life with no idea of the extent of things I have no idea about,...

Board game rules

We were playing This War of Mine - an absolute masterpiece of storytelling, by the way. In a different game, Little Bro argued that since an attack dog counts as a weapon because of having teeth, then he himself should also be, personally, qualified as a weapon due to also having teeth and not being afraid to use them. To my knowledge, he has never actually bitten anyone - in a board game or otherwise.

Ghost tree

We did, in fact, encounter a tree with that exact kind of a bend while foraging for mushrooms in the forest. I did actually take a picture of it, wanting to share it with people, but once we got home and opened my phone gallery, there was no photo. It wasn't there. My phone's camera doesn't sometimes save some pictures I take to the gallery for some reason, and we've been meaning to go back to find the tree again on some other foraging trip, but for the time being, I guess w...

Tarot cards

I was gifted a deck of tarot cards in DenFur, and while I wouldn't say I would take this kind of a thing all that seriously, those things sure do have the uncanny ability to snatch your wig off. And be rude about it.

Anniversary

We don't actually remember the exact date of our anniversary, and the one we arbitrarily agreed on was actually on Friday. And we both forgot, again.

Break work - I made an animation!

Taking a break from working on the comics, I still end up doing some sort of break work as a "snack", something different from what I usually would do. This time I found an old unfinished wonky little animation I had made, and decided to finish it. 201 frames of the wonkiest, most jittery skull you've ever seen.

Cabin adventures, pt. 5

Unfortunately the final part of the adventure - nothing dramatic or terrible happened, it's just not very restful to spend a whole week listening to three people disagree about whether the taller or the older person in any situation should just be the bigger person and agree to disagree.

Cabin adventures, pt 4

I'm still astonished by the idea that there are places where a sauna is a luxury item, like having a yacht. A sauna is a necessity of a home, a place where you get clean.

Cabin adventures, day 1:

We just arrived, while my boyfriend's gather was doing some woodwork. I I've never been in the deep woods away from everything and didn't even question the idea that maybe some neighbour runs a saw or there's a factory or something right next door, since nobody else aknowledged the noise, like they had all just been used to it.

Full factory reset

We're leaving for a cabin in the woods for a week. Though I'll do my best to stay off my phone (which I use for posting comics), I'm not planning to leave it behind, but grab a sketchbook and draw comics by hand of the journey as it happens! Foxes in Love is not going to go on a posting hiatus, but for the next week we're going acoustic!

Relationship rules

Sorry for the late post! I've been busy all day and literally haven't had the chance to sit down and decompress enough to remember that today was fox day.

Also it's just kissing in the elevators. We're not breaking public decency laws. But the implication is still funny.

Quiet moments

Sometimes I worry that I'm running out of ideas, when anything particularly exciting hasn't happened lately, and those are the times when it's time to stop, pause, and just listen to the quiet. Life has plenty of stuff, things, sounds and activities in it, and a rich life is full of them, but that doesn't mean that a pause is something bad or negative. A quiet, stillness and pause are also things to observe and cherish, and a part of a good life.

My favourite part of the day

I think a good life is one where you've got at least one part of your day every day that makes you think "ooh, this is my favourite part!"

And a truly happy life is one where you've got several.

Tabletop Games

Guess who are starting to get into Warhammer!

We started with a small Baby's First Game Box Training Wheel Version before getting the big box (I don't know yet if the name Leviathan has some in-game lore explanation, but the name is apt for just the sheer size of the package), and discovered that the two sample factions inside work quite will with our different playing tactics - he is more of a calculative tactician, I prefer to have a large number of low-risk-low-impact pawns so I can...
