Been Here Before

I like to take things that ultimately mean nothing as a sign of something good. There's no real harm in doing that, as far as I've found.

Edit: the comic wouldn't download! Here's to hoping it works this time.

Watching shows

This quite literally happened exactly like this when we checked out the show The 100.

Mushroom soup

And the soup in question! I don't always take pictures of all the foods I make from the vegetables from her garden or the stuff we've foraged from their nearby woods, but it's a regular enough occurrence.

Also, here's something that I can't make a comic about because both of our moms read it: I regularly re-gift things I've gotten from my mom to his mom and vice cersa. Middle-aged moms like things that middle-aged moms pick out.

The Veils of Civilisation - a short story

It was the miller's daughter who drew the next lot, and she did not go gently. Though she had been there when this was all voted for, and had gladly participated in the sacrifice of the others before her, she spat, screamed and protested, fighting every moment of the way when her own turn came. The others, as always, only sat on the ground, averting their eyes from her, as if the sacrifice already no longer existed. It nearly took three men to drag her to the veil. When her screaming stop...

Stretching

My spine horrifies people. For some reason me and my sister are built - in my mother's words - "like a pike (the fish)", with an unusually long back proportionally. This is convenient to me, because though both me and my bf are the same height, and both want to be the big spoon, I usually get to be it because I'm better suited.

Also, I wrote a short story this morning, and I've been contemplating sharing it here. The problem is it's quite dark, and I can't find conten...

Sickness

Fun fact: I literally cannot tell apart whether I am mentally or physically unwell. I spent like 3 days scolding myself for being unmotivated, not getting out of bed and not getting anything productive done before I realised I have a fever.

Air Battle

I have no idea where this coversation started from.

I'm so glad that the weather is getting cooler again!

Baby alert

This one was actually 100% based on a real incident. The season of baby seagulls running around the city causing trouble and calling for their parents when they find it is almost over now, but we looked for that seagull for an unreasonably long time.

Homecoming

I drew this comic before going on the trip, because I knew he would do that again. I don't understand how or why it happens, but it does every time.

Brief Break

I'm going away for a family event this week, my sister is turning 30! We'll be back to posting by 25th of July!

Gaming mode

I've learned to check what's going on in his games before interrupting a second time if he doesn't answer immediately.

Faceplant

The trick is to draw in a big breath before you go in, and cause a huge reverbing sound when you exhale.

Unaligned

You know that feeling when nothing's wrong and nothing feels particularly bad, you've just got a weird feeling that you're feeling weird, and can't quite figure out how to shake it off?
Food, sleep, a hug, and trying to do something else usually helps.

The frivolous and practical

90% of my boyfriend's wardrobe is tactical/camping gear or bought from military surplus stores. While I prefer high-quality and enduring clothes and avoid fast fashion, doesn't quite understand why I prioritise clothes by appearance, rather than how well they do with rough outdoor use.

Painting with AI - Frank Frazetta

I'm still playing with the AI art program, and it crossed my mind to request a painting in the style of Frank Frazetta, and paint something based on those. Here are the results I got, and the painting I ended up with!

The heat-blocking blanket

With the fox comics, I have a set of rules and limitations when it comes to what the aesthetic of the comics dictates - and one of them, naturally, is "nothing involving hands or feet". My hands are notoriously cold year-round, and keeping my icy feet off his body is a constant battle that my poor long-suffering partner has to endure almost every night.

The shower drinker

Based on an actual incident, but in my defense I've managed to successfully drink the shower water plenty of times.

Ice cream flavours

There's also a place in Finland that sells tar-flavour ice cream! Wood tar! It's delicious.

This may or may not be based on a real conversation.

Re-uploaded because my first attempt at posting it wouldn't attach the picture for some reason.

The Glass Horse

There's a saying in finnish, "fire is a good servant, but a poor master", which roughly translates to "heating your house is good, burning your house is bad" - you have to keep an eye on fire, and make sure it serves you and your purposes. Many other things, such as money, and technology, are definitely in the same cathegory.

After seeing so many of the "AI produces an illustration from a prompt" images online, and thinking to myself that they could be so useful as a tool for maki...

Sleeping Beauty

This was actually a real incident from the start of our relationship, somewhere around the first year of us dating. He has since emotionally recovered. I also drew a recreation of the original drawing (which was digital, and has since been deleted) as a fox version!
