Our apartment’s shower is a small closet with a glass door (literally a closet, my landlord is 90% sure it was built into an old food pantry), with the light switch on the outside. I’ll regularly switch his lights off when he’s in the shower.

Sales Tax

Apparently Patreon will be legally required to start charging sales tax on some pledges from july 1st onward. It's apparently not much, like 4-11%, and whether you get charged depends on what's taxable where you are from. Not every pledge is taxable, not all benefits are taxable everywhere, and sometimes only a fraction of a pledge will be taxable. The money that Patreon collects as a result of these laws are paid directly to local governments.

Of Being a Raisin

I’m not sure how this conversation even initially started.

Location, Location, Location

I like moving to a new place, it’s like being a plant that gets re-potted into a new pot. Scratching off the old dry soil, trimming off a few roots that don’t serve me anymore, getting new soil in a new, more fitting pot.

Baby Talk

This one time I was in public and heard a woman have a conversation with a completely unintelligble toddler. I studied them for a good while before I realised the kid was speaking russian, the mom was just answering him in finnish.

Light and dark

Not everyone can or should be a hero at the frontlines, but that doesn’t mean small efforts don’t matter. One person making one small donation, signing a petition, making one phonecall won’t change much, but a thousand people all doing just one thing adds up to far more than ”better than nothing”. The last thing we need to be is too tired to care.
