Sketch: April showers

The top request this month was suggested by Megs! "Maybe it rained and Aziraphale is being chivalrous and carrying Crowley because Crowley is all dolled up with expensive high heel shoes on and there are mud puddles."

I wanted to try and make this the original piece this month, so this is the paper sketch. I don't think I've actually drawn one carrying the other! Shocking that there's still stuff I haven't done after all this time. You guys have such good ideas.

Blanket fort

Husbands get cozy in their blanket fort, with some cab sav and a game of Othello, and probably some music on. What's super cozy music? Let's go with Madeleine Peyroux. Will Crowley cheat or play fair? Depends on the stakes, I guess. Winner has to kiss the loser.

I just had this urge to draw Stede and Edward and Westley and Buttercup. I know it's sad, but their story is kind of sad. At least for now. Crossing our fingers for the rest of the story.

The demon bound in light. I had this vision of how I wanted to do the skin, and it turned out just how I intended, which is really nice. I feel like from the sketch to final his attitude shifted from struggling to being like, kind of in command? But I don't know, I'm curious how it reads to other people.

Blackbeard

I don't expect I'll do too much OFMD art, but damn, this man is just too beautiful not to try a few times. It's the sappiest, most on-the-nose thought I've ever had, but his hair is so much like waves on the water. Get close enough and you can hear the ocean.

My piece for the upcoming Our Side Zine: Rainbow edition! I had said I was done with zines, but when they told me I could have yellow, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and it turned out pretty much just as I pictured it, which is rare. I cannot tell you how badly I have craved a real lemonade and carnival fries with ketchup the ENTIRE time I was doing this.

March timelapses & Lucky Cat drawing

So, first of all: my printer is out of ink, and I'm too sick to go to the store, so I wasn't able to do my usual names-in-a-bowl thing. I downloaded the spreadsheet of Lucky Cats and used a random number generator, and the winner this month is Arej H! Sorry I don't have a little video, but hopefully next month I'll have that sorted.

Yellow moon

This may or may not have been inspired by a certain heartbroken pirate from a certain gay pirate show, which I quite liked but am not ready to explore art-wise just yet. But Crowley has had his own reasons to be melancholy over the millennia. His go-to is probably to get drunk and nap for 86 years.

Some new and a couple older ones! I censored the casual nudity on the picnic blanket piece with a daisy. If you really want a wiener on your phone, you know where to find it (and I respect it). Cake roll

This is really simple, so I'm hoping it's not a disappointment. It's still fun and cute, but it's not, you know, a masterpiece. It absolute did make me want a cake roll. 🍓Plus, I didn't want to hurl my watercolors against the wall at any point, which is always a win!

NSFW: sunnin' buns

Yall's top request this month by a mile (suggested by lovely Jillian) was non-sexual nudity. It's such a sweet idea and I really enjoyed doing this. It's not "refined", but it feels correct. All the little wildflowers make me happy and remind me of when I was a kid -- I used to love making teeny tiny bouquets of the smallest field flowers for my mom, wrapped in a piece of grass.

I've been piling a LOT of WIPs on you guys, I promise I'll finish something here. But this is for an upcoming zine! It's rainbow-themed, and I got yellow (natch), so this will mostly be in yellow. I knew instantly what I wanted to do, and I think I pulled it off (so far). How many plushies will they walk out with? Surely Aziraphale will take them all to his local shelter the next day.

WIP: Cleopatra Crowley

I finally, after MONTHS, like... six friggin months decided to get brave and start coloring this. This is my first ever repaint (Cleopatra by John William Waterhouse), and I'm really happy with it so far. It helps to have a guide right in front of you, though I'm having to wing it on the hair and snake. Oy, the snake. I don't think I'm done with the hair yet. But I wanted to share the progress with you guys, because this is gonna take me a little while.

WIP: orange honey

She's back with the oranges! I love em. I realized I really can't do that pillow fort piece as a traditional drawing, it would lose all the little details. So I tried to just draw straight on paper, no tiny or digital sketch, which I haven't done in a while. And my man came out pretty good! You know I'm a Crowley girl, but Aziraphale wins "most kissable" every time.

Now let's see if my slow ass can color this in the next few days so I can r@ffle it to my Lucky Cats!
