Slight Scheduling Change You Wouldn't Notice If I Didn't Tell You

Time for a slight scheduling change no one would know about if I didn't alert you!

Hello Parents Episode Discussion

Most didn't see this coming at all, and that is what we always try to do!  I won't add much to this other than we spent a lot of time with the backgrounds and a ton of time creating the story leading up to this over the months.  I'm very happy how it turned out and it seems the community did too.  It drew in big numbers. Quick Answers: No Tail?

Someone asked me if we draw characters with their tails on or off and the answer is they are usually drawn with their tail on.  The only time we do a separate layer for a tail is if we are going to carry a scene over for multiple panels and we want them to move their tail.

I'm sure of ALL the characters everyone wanted to see, it would be Lawrence without his tail.  lol.  Certainly no other plot would suffice, right?  No?  I'm wrong.  Dang.

In this seemingly average episode, we did something.  We designed Ponyville's rough layout in panel three!  While not pinpointed on the map, we did actually draw Twilight's street she lives on, but we'll never say! New Location Incoming...

We've been hard at work today finalizing concept-art and sketches for the upcoming Twilight-Lawrence story!  This city has been mentioned many times in the series, but we've never actually seen it in detail up close!  We're scanning for landmarks to parody and locations to be in the background of upcoming episodes!  It's gonna be fun.

Compare Episode Discussion

This one conflicts me and everyone.  I'm not sure the idea translated well from idea to final product.  It doesn't help that panel four, Twilight's expression can be puzzling. 

Initially the comic was purely going to be based on what Twilight hears in the first panel and it would end with Rarity pointing out all the good things Twilight has in her life.  While we did that, it somehow comes off as if Rarity isn't completing Twilight so much as she is schooling her on ...
